" A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam, and for a brief moment its glory and beauty belong to our world. But then it flies on again, and though we wish it could have stayed, we feel lucky to have seen it at all." ~Anonymous"

This is a new song that I have Jenny to thank for. She told me this song made her think of me, and what I went thru, and if you listen to the words...she's right. Thank you my wonderful, beautiful, amazing sister. Somehow, this one hits me more than 'WIND'.... I love you.
On 2/18/08, I was fortunate enough to see LP in concert in Manchester, NH and it was AMAZING! In honor of that, check out this widgit! LOVE YOU GUYS!
WOW! This is intense! How true! What a great song! Take a listen, people...

Heroes
My hero is my best friend, Jenn. She is and always has been the person I wish I was... She has such a strong, fighting spirit and I love her so much. She showed me what being a sister meant (since I grew up without any siblings) and continues to show me every day. I would be so lost without her.
"You can't think how I depend on you, and when you're not there the color goes out of my life."
My other hero is my brother, John. My brother is in the Army, and for all we have been through he is the light of my life. I would trade him for anything. We never used to get along, but over the past 3 or 4 years we have grown so close, and he amazes me everyday with his courage and his strength. He has shown me what having a little brother is all about. I LOVE YOU JOHN!

Finding my light through the darkness is adjusting to a difficult situation
"The boulders that tumble in our paths during the landslides of life are SO huge and sometimes daunting. I don't think we ever really discover WHY. I guess all we can do is go on...jump over them, carve something really magnificent out of them, and hope that we have enough strength to make through the next landslide." ~T. McIver
This candle burns in remembrance of my daughter, Jennifer Rugan, who was born too soon and taken before we had a chance to know her. A beautiful angel who will be loved and missed forever.
"My sister is my heart.
She opens doors to rooms
I never knew were there,
Breaks through walls
I don't recall building.
She lights my darkest corners
With the sparkle in her eyes.
My sister is my soul.
She inspires my wearied spirit
To fly on wings of angels
But while I hold her hand
My feet never leave the ground.
She stills my deepest fears
With the wisdom of her song.
My sister is my past.
She writes my history
In her eyes I recognize myself,
Memories only we can share.
She remembers, she forgives
She accepts me as I am
With tender understanding.
My sister is my future.
She lives within my dreams
She sees my undiscovered secrets,
Believes in me as I stumble
She walks in step beside me,
Her love lighting my way.
My sister is my strength
She hears the whispered prayers
That I cannot speak
She helps me find my smile,
Freely giving hers away
She catches my tears
In her gentle hands.
My sister is like no one else
She's my most treasured friend
Filling up the empty spaces
Healing broken places
She is my rock, my inspiration.
Though impossible to define,
In a word, she is...my sister."
Jenny, you will never really truly understand how much I love you. This MOVIE is really it--and this song. And even more so now---how freakin' unreal that this mirrored my life...even down to our hair color. Wow. But there are no words to tell you--so here. This video is for you. My sister, my BEST FRIEND, the part of me I was missing that once I found you made me whole....you ARE the wind beneath my wings, Baby. ALWAYS.
Below is an ode to our daily jaunts to the DD's--and what actually happens when I accidentally get a taste of Jenny's Hazelnut... LMAO!!
The morning sun shines into my window.
I am awake. Thinking. Thinking of you.
You are so wonderful.
You are like the leaves in the trees, beautiful and bright.
But soon you leave home, drifting far away.
There is no looking back.
Oh, how I long to see spring again.
When you will be home, bright and beautiful.
For I miss you so very much, like a blue bird without a song.
All my life I have wanted the strength, the power,
and the will to tell you that you and you alone are as bright as the sun.
I look up to you with envy.
You are the rainbows, the leaves, the dancing flames of fire, and the sweet, soft scent of a rose.
You bring tears to my eyes and a smile to my face.
You are the one I care for, the brother I love... and the one I long to see once more grow bright and beautiful.
I don't know. Maybe this is not quite right. Maybe it's just because it sounds like a marching cadence. This is my new favorite song, and it makes me think of my brother--Pvt. V-- who is away in the Army, fighting for the very things Mike raps about in this song. I think of you, John, with a great love in my heart, and goose bumps on my flesh. I raise my HANDS HIGH in the air, and pray for the day you are home safe. I love you.
Who I'd like to meet: This is my baby sister's baby!!! She's due October 27!!! She's JUST starting to show!
LETS ALL REMEMBER WHAT THIS DAY IS ALL ABOUT AND WHAT IT MEANS TO US ALL. THIS COUNTRY HAS BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH AND WE BICKER ABOUT BATTLES WE NEED TO COME TOGETHER FOR ONE DAY AT LEAST AND BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER We mourn their loss this day this year Those now with God, no danger near
So many loved ones left do stand Confronting loss throughout our land
My heart goes out to those who do No one can fathom what they view
I firmly pray for peace of mind Dear God please help each one to find
And to our soldiers now at war God guide above, at sea, on shore
They are the best, I have no doubt Our country?s pride, complete, devout
The finest force you?ll ever see All freedom grown through liberty
One final thought comes clear to me For what must live in infamy
Absolutely - We?ll Remember The Eleventh - Of September
