Polish black metal band Moon started out in 1996 as a side project shared by Christ Agony vocalist/guitarist Cezar and Vader drummer Doc, recording their 1997 debut, Daemon's Heart, with a session keyboard player to flesh out their part atmospheric, part symphonic black metal compositions.
But Doc's responsibilities with the ever busy Vader soon spelled his detachment from Moon (he would tragically pass away at age 35 in 2005), so Cezar recruited an entirely new lineup comprised of guitarist Heyron, bassist Blackie, and drummer/programmer Mark for 1999's Satan's Wept, featuring an impressively orchestrated style reminiscent of vintage Emperor. Excellent reviews followed, but Moon were nevertheless put on ice for the following decade while Cezar refocused his energies on Christ Agony, but recent reports suggest that he and Blackie are working on new material for imminent release. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
