I have the happy fortune to have been created by artist KERRY MORRISON back in 1986. I came into being as her response to a textile project 'Grey meets Green' set in the first year of her degree course. To that end, I was created full sheep size, off-white sheep colour, but with grey hoofs and a grey muzzle. The assessment took place outside on the lawn with a personalised title 'Grey meets Green Grazing'.
Much to our dismay, I was not very well received by the tutor who declared that Kerry had not really satisfied the 'Grey meets Green' brief because she had, and I quote: "just made a sheep" (I think you can tell that this early snub still rankles somewhat!)
Despite this initial setback, my first professional engagement came eight months later when I accepted the position of garden sculpture: 'Grey meets Green Garden' on a cement plinth in a garden, not far from where I was created.
In June 1994 I became 'Sheep in Residence' in a house in the next village. My role was that of a bedroom sheep-horse: 'Grey meets Green Carpet', where I became expert at carrying the various items of clothing that were placed upon me.
2006 saw me beginning a new life in France where I have my most challenging role to date. Here, I am again 'Sheep in Residence', however my role is both decorative and functional: I am a sculpture in the house and garden; serve as a 'talking point' to aid my house mate in her quest to speak better French and still find time to blog about it.
So there you have it, Mrs "just a sheep" Tutor! KERRY MORRISON is a successful practising artist in the North West of England:

And I am making a bit of a name for myself here in France.
