Hello! My name is Yvonne Villanueva,I am from a small town called Visalia, and have been in Southern California for about 4 years. I moved down here to pursue my dream of becoming a professional dancer, but along the way fell in love with the Makeup Industry. I am now an Education Specialist here at MKC Beauty Academy. MKC is only located in Los Angeles,Ca. Our graduates are Master Level Professional Freelance Makeup Artists working at the top of the Fashion, Entertainment, and Print Industries. Our program is designed to equip you with all the tools necessary to begin an exciting career as a Professional Freelance Makeup Artist. All we require from our applicants is PASSION and a DRIVE to become the most successful makeup artist you can be, and we will teach you HOW to do it!
Here is some brief information about
MKC Beauty Academy:
*MKC specialize in teaching Beauty Makeup for Print; the highest level of beauty application. ANYTHING!"
*Our Master's DAY course is 10 weeks of intensive training, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm (343 hours of training). And our Master's (343 hours)
*Our classes are small (10-12 students per class) , so you get a hands on, one-on-one education.
*Classes are taught by a team of 9 instructors so students witness a broad range of techniques and styles. We believe in assisting each student to help find their own style. We encourage individuality and creativity.
*All of our instructors are working professionals in their fields, so they teach only the most up-to-date material. They are also able to talk to students about the working environment, job skills, set etiquette, professionalism, and industry DOs and DON'Ts.
*Courses included in the Master's program are Introduction to Makeup, Professional Makeup, Advanced Makeup, Bridal Makeup, Ethnic Makeup, Basic Hair Design, Basic Wardrobe Design, Beauty Lighting, Photo Retouching, Success Coaching, Business and Marketing, and 5 days of photo shoots with print level models and professional fashion photographers.
*Besides teaching the highest level of beauty application, our program also includes a Business and Marketing course to teach you how to be a successful artist and prepare you to run your own business . You will participate in mock job interviews to prepare you for surviving an interview AND landing the job. You will sit down with the School Director to lay out a 2 year business plan, with month-by-month goals that will help keep you focused and on track. No other program offers this kind of concentrated insider's look at the business side of the industry, taught by the founders themselves!
*The tuition of $14,600 includes EVERYTHING such as registration fees, lab fees, and your equipment, which includes your complete Professional Makeup Kit and Hair Kit. During the last week of the course, you will get to experience 5 days of photo shoots with Print-Level models and Professional Photographers. You will receive the best 10 prints for your PROFESSIONAL PORTFOLIO to take to future job interviews. This portfolio will become your meal ticket! The photo shoots are also a great opportunity to begin networking with the models and photographers. In addition, you will get to create YOUR OWN WEBSITE with your own domain name to advertise yourself! This website will be posted on MKC's website so that employers can browse through and contact makeup artist directly. You will also have access to an Alumni Website where we post over 400 job listing a year from employers who are looking specifically for MKC graduates. (Contents of Kits available upon request).
*This is not just a makeup school. We offer a well-rounded, MIND/BODY/SPIRIT approach to being a successful, happy artist!

Who I'd like to meet:
MKC is a selective school, we only choose 10-12 students per class. The selection is based off of a 3 page essay. If your essay is approved, then I would schedule you an interview with the fournder/director Margaret Kimura. She is responsible for selecting every single one of her students.
