The Mighty Six Ninety's earnest, jangly, synth-drenched sound puts a fresh-faced 21st century spin on new wave and post-punk acts like the Cure and New Order.
Frontman Richard Gardner, guitarist Jeremy Castillo, drummer Reade Pryor, keyboardist Camille Driscoll, and bassist Patrick Taylor teamed up to form the band in Los Angeles in 2005. The Mighty Six Ninety's first two singles, "Keeping You in Mind" and "Believable," were both released on the U.K. label Kids in 2006. Their debut full-length, Cheers to the Bitter End, was released on Invisible DJ Records the following year. An EP, Mistakes Like These, came out in 2009. ~ Margaret Reges
