Michael's Blurbs |
About me:
Most people who read this should know who i am. You know what i do and how i do it. For those who dont, You can refer to me as Michael. I'm a senior in high school, and a musician. I play clarinet as my principal instrument, tenor saxophone for jazz, and piano for leisure. I'm a composer as well. I plan on getting a PhD in music education and music performance.
I'm also a black belt in Tae-kwon-do. It's lots of fun and has taught me many things. Friends are basically my other half. They are all that keeps me sane basically lol. I see them no lower than family.
You could say i'm a intellectual person. I strive to be better than my neighbor, which explains my competitiveness too. I really enjoy intellectual conversations, lets me know i'm not the only one who wants a future...
anything else you want to know feel free to pm me.
I also wanted to dedicate an extra special section to my dearest love and friend, Kayla. She has gotten me through so many hard times, and constantly shows how much we have in common. It's truly a blessing to be with such a wonderful, beautiful, and honest person such as her. She has impacted me more than i ever though was possible and i truly am greatful. We have broken through so many barriers and obstacles, and we continue to live on, hand in hand. May our love only flourish and our friendship continue for eternity. Our bond is one in a million. <3

Who I'd like to meet:
Well besides people with answers, i'm ok. I'll meet people i need to meet when that time comes.

Dedicated to you, sir. haha
You! -hugs-
I need to get you your clothes back, but Nikki's been abse nt and has your sweater hostage...So...yeah...When I get it back, I'll bring them by, k?
not really, why?
Yeah well, welcome to my world. :]
Yes, I've tried. And I just get criticized even more! AND I get yelled at.
They never listen to me and just criticize me more.
Nightmare was the best ever. And for winterguard, Chicago was the best ever. It set my standards, which is why I don't do winter. I hate the songs they do, but nobody cares about MY opinion. As long as the others like it, it's gung ho. -.-
Yes. Color guard. o.o
Woot! Yes I would. :] It's been bugging me that I don't have it, because I can't run through old routines and such. -sticks out tongue- ><
You wouldn't happen to have the CD with the field show songs on it still, would you? You know . . the one Vick handed out.
Hello again, Michael - I'm noticing that I didn't appear to answer your last comment. Sorry about that.
Indiana U., eh? Well, you must be very very good! A very well-known program. I actually exchanged an e-mail or two with Claude Baker [I THINK he's at Indiana] inquiring about coming down to perform or something - he said that they usually don't have modern acts at Indiana, to his chagrin.
So you start at Indiana this Fall?
I know! You've heard the one at the end by Dragon Ash, havent you? That ones awesome too.
The Battle Royale theme song. NICE!
Cookie? I would give you a cookie love if I had one!!! ^^
Thanks for the friendship and for the comment!
People who have a predilection towards classical music occasionally mention John Adams when they hear my stuff, but not often. I do have a piece on 'A Piano Saga' that I think might have some Adams influence called 'It Begins Again', and that was because Opera Theatre of St. Louis put on a production of nixon in China that year, and I was the van driver for them that season. ;) None of these pieces were directly influenced by Adams, however.
Whatever influences what I do comes from any number of sources before it comes from classical music, at least directly. While I've studied guitar formally and majored in music for a couple years, I haven't had piano lessons.
Charles Ives is my favorite of the 20 century crowd - I really think he was just saying something really powerful through his work [I'm not really talking about the dual marching bands types of pieces - those crack me up more than move me in any particular way.]
Anywho, long comment. What kind of stuff do you play?
hm i dont know if i like having to scroll down for days to see your friends and comments...so now i am leaving you a comment just to express my feelings toward that. thank you and have a nice weekend...

evil band student brat. :P i DO practice, thank you very much. but you see, with MYSELF as a teacher i'm not exactly a brilliant pianist. if they hadn't abandoned me, i'd have 7 or 8 years of training by now. but NOOO.
