We are a collective of Indigenous people, no matter which side of the imaginary lines called borders we come from. Medicine Word Poets come from all Nations: Kiowa, Muscogee, Diné, Sicangu Lakota, Itazipco Lakota. We recognize the power in spoken words and share these medicine words with our community. Whether the words are angry, peaceful, anguished or humorous, we believe in the honesty of our experience. Our connections to each other, as Indigenous people, are important in maintaining our integrity and way of life.
I was curious if any natives in or affiliated with the medicine word poets are looking for any information on how to draw and illustrate. I am a graduate of multi media art school and am willing to share some of my knowledge of creativity on a two dimnesional plane if there is interest. I am a person who has gone through personal hardships and it is the drawing table that has always been there to help express myself and to realize self discovery. I like to share information.
