About Maya Jupiter

Me? I'm an emcee first and foremost. I fell in love with hip hop in high school, wrote my first rhyme at 14 and haven't stopped.. put out my debut album in 2003 and just released a new album with Foreign Heights! I present/produce the only National Hip hop show on Triple J radio and have been doing so for the last 3years. www.triplej.net.au/hiphop The show is a celebration of hip hop culture around the world with a playlist of 50% Aussie hip hop. I am a presenter on Foxtel's Channel [v] and am currently visiting LA, New York and London working on a new series called "Freestyle" which is dedicated to Hiphop/rnb/soul. www.channelv.com.au Whenever I can I still hold hip hop workshops encouraging young people to pick up a pen and write down their thoughts. Sometimes they learn how to make beats as well..it's the most rewarding thing I do. www.ice.org.au I used to rap in a Latin/hiphop/jazz band called Son Veneno until they moved to London to become superstars. I'm still very jealous.
