Marlena grew up in Newberg, Oregon and wanted to be a ballerina. After many years of lessons she basically learned to fall down gracefully. In High School she wanted to be a flight attendant, but back then they had height requirements. In 2002 she discovered quite by accident that she loved making people laugh. While working in a comedy club in Houston, Texas a comedienne went on stage and was shockingly dirty. Marlena told the owner she could do that and be clever and clean. He gave her 30 days to prepare 5 minutes. People laughed and she has been hooked every since to the sound of laughter. In 2004 The Houston Chronicle featured her and 2 other comedians in an article describing how tough it is to climb the ladder in the comedy world. She has opened for performers such as Dwight Slade, Jack Mayberry, Big Ed, Danny Martinez, Chris Strait, Tommy Drake, Darryl Rhodes, John Evans and many more.
Hey Marlena just wanted to say have a Great Weekend. I only have 10 more days left and the long wait is over. This is the change I've been wanting for years. Get ready for the New Me. Lots of Love. ~Dexter Dailey~
Hey Marlena Just wanted to say Thanks again for The ADD. I will have a sample of my comedy soon. I am waiting on a copy of my comedys Virgin Voyage. It will be a bit Yet. I will be back on a stage real soon. I am waiting for when I am comfortable with travel. I have come a long way in the last year but getting Lap-Band Surgery will be the change I have been needing. I will keep everyone posted. Thanks for being a Great Friend.
Hey Marlena just wanted to say Thanks for the ADD. I will be back on the stage soon. Nothing like making a room full of people laugh. Can't wait to be out front again. ~Dexter Dailey~
Hi Marlena! I hope I'll see you this Saturday June 07 from 12 to 4. Not only do we have authors galore, we have an artist and brownies in store. Who could ask for anything more? :) Pam
Unfortunately we had to cancel Saturday's gig at 710 in Lake Charles. Our drummer fractured his hand and will be wearing a cast for about three weeks. We rescheduled the date for Friday July 18th - hope you can make it then!
