Marissa was discovered by her kindergarten teacher who asked her to sing at her kindergarten graduation. She didn't take that discovery seriously, because she thought she would be a classical pianist. She won the Lucy Moses Concerto Competition at the age of 8 and debuted with an orchestra at Merkin Hall in New York City. At the age of 9, she won a Young Artist Competition and received a concert at Carneige Hall in New York City. She always sang, but just for fun.
She started to take her voice seriously at 12 years old. She needed a break from the intensity and pressures of classical piano, and began singing for relaxation. She started to get noticed more and more because of her vocal ability. She eventually decided to combine both of her talents into something truly unique.
Marissa has been heading music ministry by leading her church in worship since the age of 14. She feels called to spread the word of God. It was what felt right to her and to everyone who has heard her music.
Marissa has performed extensively, she's been invited to open for Jessie McCartney, has performed with Grammy winner song writer Gordon Chambers, and performed at the Bitter End with Vanessa Carlton (5 time Grammy nominee) and Jessie Harris, Grammy winner (Songwriter of the year 2003). She's also shared the stage with the Jonas Brothers, Aly and AJ, Everlife and Teddy Geiger. In addition to writing and performing her music, Marissa has been featured in several top Teen magazines, and has appeared and used her voice on numerous national commercial spots.
She has recently started college in Nashville, TN and is writing her second album.
Hi, Marissa! I just wanted to stop by and see what's up with you. (Also, I wanted to listen to your songs again. I love them. They are beautiful.) Have a wonderful day tomorrow and a great weekend! God bless!
Next month I will be attending a very special concert, and I have one little problem....
This is a FASHION EMERGENCY!!! I have uploaded some photos to a new album titled "Concert Outfit Poll", and I need your vote.
That's right, all you need to do is simply comment the outfit you like best. The outfit with the most votes by August 22nd (day of concert) is the outfit that I will choose to wear.
In the name of fashion please help! Your vote counts and so do your opinions. So when you leave the comment put "I vote this one", and then after that you may say whatever else you would like. Please make sure to put down that you are voting for the outfit, not just leaving me a nice comment.
