Born in Rio de Janeiro (10/01/66), Marconi began his musical studies at the age of 4. At 6, he moved to Curitiba and entered Escola de Belas Artes do Paraná, where he studied flute, violin, piano and choir singing. During this time he was playing in night gigs, and also took part in voice groups at First Baptist Church at Curitiba.
From 1988 to 1989, he lived between Campinas and São Paulo where he played and taught. In 1989 he moved to Goiânia, where he started performing as a pianist & keyboard player and working as a musical director for such singers as Cláudia Vieira, Marco Antonini, Nila Branco and João Marcelo, among others.
In 1994 he began to focus mainly on production, musical direction and arrangement. He produced and directed for The Not Yet Famous Blues Band (TNYFBB), Banda Tennessee, Banda Scalla, Banda Evoeh, Valter Mustafé, Gilberto Correia, Cláudia Vieira, João Marcelo, Henrique, Dênio de Paula, Adalto Bento Leal, Itamar Correia, Nilton Rabello, Ivan Lins, Lindomar Castilho e Odair José, and many others.
In addition to his recording jobs, he entered the field of theater and cinema soundtracks. In 2002 he wrote & produced the score to the 1st popular theater adaptation of "The Passion of Christ" produced by Secretaria Municipal de Cultura. In cinema, he composed soundtracks to the full-length films "A Brazilian Saga" (1998) and "Lizarda's winds" (2001) by director Pedro Augusto. He also wrote (with musician Tom Oliveira) the soundtrack to "Abduction" by Dustan Oeven and Moisés Cabral. In 2002, he composed the soundtrack to "A Saga da Latinha", an educative short film by Michael Valim, and "The Mentecapt" by Maceidy Lisita, awarded with the Pedra Goiana prize of best soundtrack at ABD Cine Goiás Competitive Showcase.
In 2003 Marconi joined TNYFBB as a musical producer and keyboard player and in 2005 the band performed at the After Party Celebration of the 6th Latin Grammy Awards.
In 2006 he moved to Los Angeles bringing with him his first solo CD. "Pure Bossa" was recorded as a Brazilian Bossa Nova Jazz Trio with the wonderful participation of Bororo (Upright Bass) and Fred Valle (Drums), and includes such classical songs as Garota de Ipanema, Desafinado, Wave, Corcovado and others.
Living in LA ever since, he recorded (2007), the soundtrack to the movie “Looking for Romeo” by director Arthur Ian, for which he performed on the main theme, created additional soundscore, mixed and mastered. The movie is on the official selection of Newfest New York LGBT Film Festival - 2008.
He started collaborating with Kapa Music artists Christos Kedras and Martin East, recording keys & synths, co-producing, mixing, and mastering.
He is also working as a co-producer with Grecco Buratto on his first solo CD.
In parallel to the above, he is currently completing his second CD, to be released later this year.
