"...some of the most intelligently written lyrics in pop music today...will have you wondering how all this musical diversity and lyrical genius could come from one man." ~IndepenDisc.com

"...ear catching and damned near perfect 3-minute pop songs...a whirlwind journey through a number of styles, moods, and philosophical concerns." ~NewMystics.com

"...turns a blind eye to the emotional pretension and objective distance many songwriters exhibit, describing real life from sometimes unusual, always engaging perspectives." ~IndependentClauses.com

"...precisely crafted musical gems that perfectly mirror the mood and subject of their lyrics, and all are sung by Berman in a somewhat deadpan vocal style that permits his wit and whimsy to consistently shine." ~LuckyDogRadio.com

"...unhateable innocent gentle pop. Perfect tunes and drive. Like Miracle Legion....XTC run over by the lo-fi folk bandwagon. Predictable until it isn't...I am laughing, but I am also enthralled. I want more of this good stuff!" ~HybridMagazine.com

Hi Knight: thanks so much for the blog post - that's a brilliant book, eh? I'm currently re-reading my personal favorite points (which is about 75% of the whole thing!)

We really must hang out sometime soon - any chance you can make it in to NYC for our Aug 2nd show at Arlene's Grocery? It really is a great bill! Good bands!

Cheers,
Ian

P.S.
I guess you have your finger on the pulse these days with all this "Dark Knight" Batman stuff going 'round eh?

Cheers. Small world. We named ourselves after a speak easy of the same name in Grand Central Station (speak easy because they don't advertise, it's a little tricky to find, and few know about it - it was once Andrew Carnegie's office).

Groovy new pic, my friend. If you come out and see your shadow, will there be an extra six weeks of summer? Say yes...

That would also give you & K more time to plan that excursion to Michigan for beers on the porch.
