"Like the bright sun burning through the morning fog, Magicfolk come bearing tradition, vision, passion and mysticism" (EXPOSÉ MAGAZINE)
Since their inception as a quiet, well-behaved acoustic trio back in 2003, Magicfolk have become increasingly wild and erratic with the addition of bass, drums, sax, soaring electric guitars, flutes and keyboards.
Now a leading UK psych-folk band, Magicfolk produces its own fusion of rock, folk, celtic and prog-rock with rich vocal harmonies, in songs with mythological and mystic leanings.
“Genuinely something new for fans of esoteric folk, their lyrics sing of folklore and magic, evoking the mystery within the music” (WOVEN WHEAT WHISPERS)
"A raft of magical spells, a silver blade wrapped in lace" (FOLKWORDS)
Grounded in acoustic instrumentation, their songs often develop into raucous rock, jazz and psychedelic improvisations. They also have gentler songs which take you to other more restful places.
“Hugely evocative” (FIREWORKS MAGAZINE)
"Delicately spun… visiting the perfumed garden of 60s psychedelia." (ROCK ‘N’ REEL MAGAZINE)
"Pink Floyd meets the Mediaeval Baebes" (WHITE DRAGON)
"The music is infectious... it's impossible not to move your feet" (TILTING SKY MAGAZINE)
A mountain is she standing as the highest peak her blood flows clear water rising across the plain, lips spread wide to speak her names into the world.
Canyons fill with her, the rising gorge walls her vast domain. Mother mountain river mother older than the Hawk of Aichill more ancient than language, spring and autumn alike her bold epiphany, lips spread wide to birth all things into the world.
Mother mountain river mother rooted in glacier's path, strong as stone that stands against the sea, lips spread wide in loudest of groans that separates birth and death carrying all that lives into the cradle of earth, embracing our bones cupped in the hands of time like fruit in autumn sun or wolf cubs in dark dens, asleep high on a mountain's side.
Mother mountain river mother arc of her breast caressed by sky whose winds are lover's hands, a mountain is she.

Hi Magicfolk! Thanks for searching me. Thanks for find me. Let me know more about you. Your space is very intertesting. I'm only a seven years old girl who lives in a book, between fairies, goblins and trolls... that kind of people. An I would like to take you to my book. Maybe you could be happy there, with me and my friends, in a magic place. Do you believe in magic? Let me give you some of my magic and never forget this: it's time to choose with the heart and the mind must follow it... I know there is a little child within you. Let me know this little child. Ok? I share you the blessing of the stars to light forever your internal child, so he brings you happiness, success and abundance. MAGIC EXISTS... MY HEART WARNED ME... Thanks ever! Nadine, the Daughter of the Stars
Thanks for attending our little shindig, it's a shame there wasn't more people there, I think my fellow villagers shot their collective bolts on Saturday night.
Best wishes from Fruits de Mer Records, a small but almost perfectly-formed new psych/folk/prog label.
