Also, I am trying to get a gig (anywhere) and haven’t been successful yet. If you know of any club near where you live or have connections to one (Especially in Chicago) please help me out. So far I have only been able to perform at a weekly open mic night and it is only 3 songs per time so it’s not like a real showcase, which is something I would like to try to do next.

I LLEROY sono l’incarnazione e la prosecuzione di quel sound da macellai che impazzava a metà anni ’90, rock iper-muscoloso suonato col cuore e col sudore. In barba a tutte le mode del momento e a tutta la faciloneria smielata che si avverte in ambito indie (o dovremmo ormai dire “mainstream”?). Violenti, truculenti, eccessivi, strabordanti, taglienti, spettacolari, estremi fino all’antipatìa: li adorerete o li odierete.

Disco d’esordio per i quattro marchigiani, già membri di altre bands quali Guinea Pig, Lebowski, Jesus Franco and The Drogas. “Sick Sex And Meat Disasters In A Wasted Psychic Land” mette in scena in meno di venti minuti la grottesca tragicommedia di un’umanità sull’orlo del baratro. Noise? Post-punk? No wave? Sebbene queste definizioni si addicano alla musica del quartetto jesino, esse non sono altro che altrettante etichette sotto cui si celano gli archetipi ancestrali del blues e del rock’n’roll: la passione dell’uno e la carica liberatoria dell’altro strisciano sotterranee lungo i sette brani dell’album, ma prima di raggiungere la superficie sono già mutate in sonorità marce e depravate. Una sorta di anti-avanguardia anti-intellettualistica che attinge ispirazione dai grandi cantori della disperazione e dell’alienazione, come Doors, Stooges, Tom Waits, Cpt.Beefheart, Pere Ubu, Nick Cave, Contortions, Jesus Lizard, Cramps, Suicide… Ma non aspettatevi nulla di tutto ciò.
