I'm quintessentially eclectic, and my listening habits range from opera to heavy metal, but some sure bets: Foo Fighters, Queen, Evanescence, Nightwish, Blind Guardian, The Beatles, film scores, Celtic music, and frequent bouts of classical (Mozart is my favorite composer, followed closely by Bach and Vivaldi), Breaking Benjamin, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Hayley Westenra, Sarah Brightman, Vienna Teng, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly.

Television
I don't watch television. I'm not against watching television -- I'm just too hyper to sit and watch anything for thirty minutes. Too much other stuff to do.
But... from the old days, my all time favorites are Get Smart, Lost in Space, and Mork & Mindy.
Books
Mostly non-fiction relating to science, philosophy & theology, etc.,
but I love the Harry Potter books,
the crisp, descriptive writing of Annie Dillard,
the works of Charles Dickens (a must),
To Kill a Mockingbird,
and Marcel Proust's In Search of Lost Time (A la recherche du temps perdu -- also called Remembrance of Things Past).

About me: By vocation, I am currently a teacher for the Georgia Department of Corrections. I teach inmates at Baldwin State Prison. As the only teacher at our institution I handle literacy, adult basic education, GED prep, English as a second language, supervise inmates taking college courses, and occasionally teach Spanish. It's a rewarding job, and at times very frustrating -- I'm just trying to make a difference in the lives of some men who've made terrible mistakes and who society has largely forgotten.
Another vocation at the moment is writing -- after years of dreaming, studying, and scratching away, I am finally at work on my first novel. I'm also busy once again sculpting in papier mâché, one of my great loves. I can't dream of a life without that mystical creative trinity -- literature, art, and music.
I'm proud to have served my country as a United States Marine (semper fi!!! and OOH-RAH!!!), and would do it all over again given half a chance. Once a Marine, always a Marine!
