Influences
Considering that it is impossible to aware of every single thing you are perceiving at any given moment - it's probably time for me to update this a bit...
In terms of music: From Floyd to Cohen, Chains to Nirvana, Lennon to Knopfler, Manson to Metallica, Nails to Tool, Simon to Garfunkel, Byrne, Miller, Dead, et cetera. Plus the musicians I get to jam with weekly, truly inspirational.
As for visual stimulation: the amazing sights of the world (both beautiful and horrible) impress me all the time. Everything vibrates together into something I cannot describe, and don't care to. I have known many artists in my life, from friends and family to random acquaintances. Joel Peter Witkin blew my mind (after he cut in half) and sometimes I swear I hear through Van Gogh's ear...but that is getting WAY too specific.
Sounds Like
Cult of the Sunny Jims
CotSJ is:
Rev Dave - Vocals, Rhythm Guitar
Sunny Jim - Lead Guitar
Adam E. - Bass
Mac - Percussion
What I lovingly describe as "Jammin' Acid Folk" (what would YOU call it?), CotSJ invited me to join them in the rhythm section less than a year ago, and this latest musical en devour is the direct reason for my expansion from Drum Kits to Hand Drums.
GROCK
Be sure to check out the live recording of GROCK from 91.7 KAXE - Comfortably Numb has Alan singing and Tommy on lead guitar (Dowling...cousins) with uncle Lee on drums and uncle Fred on guitar (all three of them sing backup vocals) and I am on bass.
GROCK is the "family band" that I have the pleasure of jammin' with.
The members are:
(Uncle) Fred - Guitar, Vocals
(Cousin) Tommy - Vocals, Guitar
(Uncle) Lee - Drums, Vocals, Bass
(Cousin) Alan - Guitar, Vocals
(Same old) Me - Bass, Drums, Talking...?
We've done a few shows, and it sounds like we've been asked to do a few more...
The Binary Boys
I'd like to introduce you to The Binary Boys. Maybe you have already met, maybe you haven't - but I hope you can check it out and enjoy! This is a project my brother and I have been doing for over a year now for 91.7 KAXE.
Also, any feedback is appreciated! Let me know what you think, and if you can figure out which on is me - 100101 or 101011...?
Welcome to Macedelic Studios.
I am married!!! If you haven't heard, now you have (aren't you glad you heard it from me? :p)
