I am an Animal Rescuer
My job is to assist God's creatures.
I was born with the drive to fulfill their needs.
I take in helpless, unwanted, homeless creatures
Without planning for selection.
I have bought (cat) food with my last dime.
I have hugged someone vicious and afraid.
I have fallen in love a thousand times.
And I have cried into the fur of a lifeless body
too many times to count
I have animal friends and friends who have animal friends.
I don't often use the word "pet".
I notice those lost at the road side and my heart aches.
I will hand raise a field mouse
And make friends with a vulture.
I know of no creature unworthy of my time.
I want to live forever if there aren't animals in Heaven.
But I believe there are.
Why would God make something so perfect and leave it behind?
Some may think we are master of the animals,
But the animals have mastered themselves.
Something people still haven't learned,
War and Abuse make me hurt for the world.
But a rescue that makes the news gives me hope for mankind.
We are a quiet but determined army,
And we are making a difference every day.
There is nothing more necessary than warming an orphan.
Nothing more rewarding than saving a life.
No higher recognition than watching them thrive.
There is no greater joy than watching a baby play,
Who only days ago, was too weak to eat.
By the love of those who I've been privileged to rescue
I have been rescued.
I know what unconditional love really is.
For I've seen it shining in the eyes of so many.
Grateful for so little.
I am an animal rescuer.
My work is never done.
My home is never quiet.
My wallet is always empty.
But my heart is always full.
No amount of rationalization or blaming can preempt the moment of choice each of us brings to our situation here on this planet.
The lesson of the 60's is that people who cared enough to do right could change history.
We didn't end racism but we ended legal segregation.
We ended the idea that you could send half-a-million soldiers around the world to fight a war that people do not support.
We ended the idea that women are second-class citizens.
We made the environment an issue that couldn't be avoided.
The big battles that we won cannot be reversed. We were young, self-righteous, reckless, hypocritical, brave,silly, headstrong and scared half to death.
And we were right.

I'm a web designer and search engine specialist in Myrtle Beach, SC. My world revolves around Google and real estate, in that order. I'm on the computer about 16 hours a day 7 days a week, but I do love it all. I'm self employed, living well...and wait till I tell you how. NO. It's NOT because of some MLM scheme or The Secret or something a life coach told me!
I've always been crazy about, and loyal to Davy Jones and the Monkees...through all the Beatles years, the 80's Disco, and even now. Their music was part of my life and I didn't care who laughed. When the miracle occurred in 1999 and I met Davy, my whole life changed. Out of my immense infatuation I had someone teach me to make a website for him. I enjoyed it so much I did one for the store that I worked for. Fate took over, Ebay came along and I started dabbling with that.
Eventually I got into reading about search engines and found that I loved trying to solve that endless puzzle. I was approached by a real estate agent...then more. I worked for a local developer for 3 years (another David) and now I'm on my own again and doing great. If you Google me, you find me everywhere! I work hard, but never go to an office...and after working for 25 years it's about time!
I live the American Dream...and it's all thanks to a beautiful little Manchester lad named Davy Jones. How do you repay someone for a life change like this? I wish I knew. He means the world to me.
There are so many "Davids" in my life. Way too many. And they just keep coming. Seem to go to them like moths to a flame...

All my life I've been attracted to condos. Strange, isn't it? In the small town of High Point, NC, there was practically no such thing. I LOVE marketing them! In fact, I love the whole field of real estate marketing.
Aside from that, I was a hippie. Once a hippie, always a hippie. I've been a trekkie for the last 20 years, and William Shatner is my second love. He was one of the very first people to find and join My Space, and he invited all his website people to "be his friend". So here I am!

Love the ocean, the Caribbean, and cats. If I could do one useful thing in this life, I wish I could help homeless cats and dogs in some way. Of course everyone can donate, and most caring people mourn the ones that are abandoned.
I just wish I had a huge amount of money and could do so much more...:-( I would love to open a sanctuary for homeless cats some day.
I go to Las Vegas about 3 times a year and would go more if I could. I'd like to move either to Vegas or Florida...or even the Turks and Caicos Islands! Oh...one more thing... HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT - NOBAMA!

I'd also love to see Fess Parker (Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett) while he's still in good health. He's a wonderful guy.
Business-wise, I'd give anything to shake Donald Trump's hand. To work for an icon like that would be the ultimate. Bill Gates is another master that I'd be honored to meet. I hope that Sergey and Brin are able to maintain their innocence and idealism with Google while they compete with the big boys. It won't be easy.
I like David Carradine too. He is an awesome actor. I was spoon-fed the Kung Fu Buddhist philosophy during my formative teen years and it influenced me enormously. I recently found he has his own David Carradine MySpace, and plays and sings music! Who woulda thunk??? He's good, too!
