About me: I'm half Finnish on my mothers side and my father is English. I was born in Wimbledon, London, England. I have just the one sibbling my brother Raimo. And I work as a gardener for our local church.
I've been a U2 fan for almost 20 years. My first introduction to U2 was when I saw their impressive performance on LiveAid in 1985, but it wasn't until I saw U2s With or without You video in the autumn of 1988, that finally got me hitched! I was totally mesmerized by Bono and the song that I had to find out more about this band and the rest is history!!
I've seen U2 live in concert 5 times. First time was Stockholm 1993, second and third time was Helsinki 1997 and Dublin 1997, then came the wonderful Slane Castle gig in 2001 and the last time was in Copenhagen in 2005. I've been lucky enough to meet Adam and Edge, in Helsinki 1997 and Bono and Edge(again!) in Copenhagen 2005.
Apart from my favourite books and authors I've already listed, I also have the complete works of William Shakespeare, also a smaller translation of some of his works in Finnish. Also like Jane Austen, Sergeanne Golon(especially his Angelika series!) Anthony Trollope and Richard Adams, mainly his Watership Down novel.
And of course I love gardening! I'm never happier than when I'm elbow deep in some nice fresh peat!! It's not just a profession or a hobby for me, but a way of life!
