Some new Austin Shows:
We're recording our next LP... Hope to finish by next Saturday :)
And you can still probably find this:
A 7", The Very Next Moment / I'm sorry. Out now on S- Records. A futurist (that is, costumbrist) narrative of high - tech / rural noise middle class splendor. And a sonambulist cover of a classic Brenda Lee song, guitars blinded by the hot Monterrey sun and Estrella's cut-up vocals. Initially recorded by Mou at NeneRecords, and finished / edited / mixed by noted local hip-hop producer Alejandro Villalobos at fosadelaprosa estudios. Cover by former Llamarada guitarist Herla Alarcón. What are you waiting for?????
"New single by this neo-psychedelic Post-Punk band from Mexico! “The Very Next Moment” is noisy and feedback-soaked monster, sounding like the GERMS meeting CABARET VOLTAIRE! "
X-MIST.
"It’s taken me a long time to get into Los Llamarada, but now that I have I count them among the most important sounds in music right now. The four piece from Monterrey Mexico have been cooking up some untamed punk music that has roots firmly in the no wave scene. I don’t think music can get more murky then this monster of a band here. Simultaneously working in minimal song structures and then adding so many random sounds and seriously demented vocals make for an interesting listen." Sunshine and Grease.
"... Los Llamarada got their hooks in the blues! You heard smacks of it in the LP, but with sonic “clarity,” structured abounds in “The Very Next Moment.” Austere and flippant. The flip side is a cover of Brenda Lee’s “Im Sorry.” Add buzzy guitars and a french accent and you got a total bummer session. Great 7? to end the year right."
Trashcan Confessional .
"The title cut sticks their rumbly Ut and Mars thang between thick gooey slices of A-Frames stomploaf. Lovely synth peppering, too. Someone tell the dudes at Mutant Sounds! Cheveu fans oughta open their hearts for this one. Although, I should add, they've either moved up to a studio or someone hooked them up with the dopest boombox this side of a JVC in 85 because this don't sound like their usual Pixelvision fidelity. Don't mind it a bit, though. That lil number's keeps me warm just thinking of the Monterrey sun warming their leaky basement. Nothing like Robocoppin' in a droptop on a humid night. But that's another yarn.
And the B-side is...wow. Brenda Lee's "I'm Sorry" always seemed like the kind of shit someone shouts up to a 4th-story window in the wee-smalls with one hand on their sweaty heart and one on some E-dub--but never was before. Evil truckstop karaoke at it's finest. So annoying you'll never forgive again.
Live-r than most." Fuckyoucounselor Blog.
"Los Llamarada's LP from earlier this year, The Exploding Now, didn't really prepare me for the heat they'd bring to this new single. These are studio recordings that unmask their murk, revealing a downright surly ownership of the blues. “The Very Next Moment” dribbles poison ink over a dominant, plundering, beaten-mean countenance, speeding up just enough at the end to recall Catholic Discipline with a more contained vocal presence, or the Fall or Country Teasers at their most misanthropic. Bad politics, baby. The loose banging out of Peggy Lee's “I'm Sorry” caps this perfect - yes, perfect - single off with a breathless female vocal rant, purposed above a ramshackle, gleefully scattered two-chord tumble. Part of the “new sound” you've been hearing. This world is a great place for a few minutes." Doug Mosurak, Dusted Magazine.
"Densely textured, lo-fi soundscapes created by organ and weirdo guitars hammered together billyclub-fisted drumming and finished with anguished boy/girl vocals create another great twist on damaged D.I.Y. art-punk. I’m going to go out on a limb and give this my vote for 2007’s biggest surprise."
Unpiano.
"...now here you have the sound of true no-bullshit no-posturing wild eyed tribal psychedelia bringing together all that's beautiful and savage and fierce and wise in rock and roll, or how some kids crashing and stomping and singing their hearts out in the corner of some basement summon from the blank void of silence a kernel of truth we can all glimpse and share.."

"I så fald er Llos Llamarada 'New Weird Central America'. Det mexicanske band har udgivet deres første plade for nylig, og ved første (og anden, tredie o.s.v.) gennemlyning kan det da godt være, den lyder lidt mærkelig, men skidt med det." (????)
Transmission.nu.
"This four piece from Mexico take you right *there* with sputtering No Wave crunch, early Swans/Sonic Youth atmospherics, classic avant garage licks and a level of personal possession that is extremely gratifying."
VolcanicTongue.
Los Llamarada: The Exploding Now LP! For sale on Ss Records .
8 noisy missives from the lo-fi depths of chaos and madness. Recorded live and straight to cassette tape.
Praise for Los Llamarada's THE EXPLODING NOW LP:
“This record is the best late-night cough-syrup epic since Royal Trux was peaking… an honest-to-gawd gibbering masterpiece of true life psych punk”. Ryan Wells, Z Gun Zine.
“White vinyl never sounded so dirty.” Thurston Hunger, KFJC Radio.
“Four fucked up kids from Mexico playing heavily atmospheric dark psych that sounds like a Star Trek transporter on bad acid.” Florida’s Dying.
“Their DIY approach delivers a dingy sound that's curiously exciting to ears dulled by music overdone by high tech magic.” Belinda Acosta, The Austin Chronicle.
"One of the most shocking and unique pieces of agitpunk since the Meta-Matics LP, but way more devastated and angered." Doug Mosurak, Dusted Magazine.
"Los Llamarada bend their minds and instruments in such an evil, earthy fashion that your own sober mental state grows instantly muddled and disoriented with each passing track." Todd Killings, Victim of Time.
Your nightmare: 2002. Some guitar parts, lyrics, a drum kit, sounds we couldn't find anywhere else. We've recorded most of our works in small boomboxes (Jimbo sticker on the side). Stumbling in the dark, hoping to find a nice surprises. We like many different things. What we get is usually different from what we want, but we end up liking it anyway! What we hate... we bury late at night. We never know what's going to happen. And we always come back. ALWAYS.
Our first gig: La Estaca, staffed by zombie roadies. After that we played on events like NeneFest, HappyFest, Dias de Colectividad, la Semana Latinoamericana del Arte Independiente, indie, punk and experimental shows, some birthdays. We haveve visited the cities of Orizaba, Queretaro, Zacatecas and Austin TX (South by Southwest 2007), and we've just returned from our San Francisco and Davis gigs :)
Our homemade DIY lo-fi whatever you want to call them CDs can be found at the local store Musiclab, or at Ahydee's place at el Mercado Fundadores (Local B - 03) and in our shows.
