   About Stewart Miles
If you want far higher quality versions of these tracks and more check out my home page 9barrecordings.com

I've been working on various electronica since 1993. I started out playing about with Octamed on an Amiga to write some music for a game I was writing. Played some music to my friends and they liked it so i've been working on new material on and off ever since.

Recently I've been working on techno tracks with break beats and low(ish) tempos. I also work on Jazzy Drum n' Bass tracks every once in a while.

I'm originally from Essex in the UK the home of Ram Records, Slammin' Vinyl (yeah I know Slammin' are cheezy) and loads of other influential record labels from the start of the 90's electronic music scene. I'm heavily influenced by the music I used to physically damage my ears with at raves like The Seduction Weekender, Moondance and Raindance.

Spleen - NEW EP COMING...

May 27 2008 4:53 PM

Hi,

My second EP is almost finished and is now being mastered.

To give you a taste of how it will sound and what the meaning of this EP is, I've put 3 of the 4 songs on the Spleen myspace.
Some of you might know of a couple of songs, but they are altered.

The brand new song is FLOWERDROPS.

If you're interested, here is the philisophy behind the EP :

This EP is very symbolic and has a lot of meaning to it. It's about
the 4 human temperaments (choleric, phlegmatic, sanguine and
melancholic) and how they match our seasons and specific feelings. I
have made 4 songs that each tell another story: we all fit in this EP,
as every human being has got an own temperament and relates to that
respective song on my EP.

Here is a list of the structure of the EP to make it al clear :

Choleric temperament - summer - song on EP : Sun Salution
Phlegmatic temperament - winter - song on EP : Winterbeams
Sanguine temperament - spring - song on EP : Flowerdrops
Melancholic temperament - autumn - song on EP : City Of Sleeping Birds

So it is near party time, I must admit I will be very glad to see the back of 2007.

It has been the worst year of my life, strangly the best too.

A year of extremes, I am hoping for a nice bland chilled one for 2008 :D

All the best to you and your family, wishing you a happy new year

James.

Uploaded an old track which goes down quite nicely with a helping of "On The Sofa" it's just a shame myspace's compression kills it, if you like it goto my website www.9barrecordings.com for a much clearer version.

The piano started out as "Wide ST Piano" from the EXB-PCM01 Korg expansion board. The standard patch is a little too bright for my tastes so I low pass filtered it a bit and added some light chorus to make it even wider along with some light reverb to give it some depth.

What's up Stew! Did Nick talk you into this?
On the sofa is extremely relaxing. That piano playing/sound is killin' the game. If you did that on the Triton, you have to tell me what you did, cause the stock piano sounds don't sound like that at all.
