History
On his way to Newton Hawker Centre one night in March 2005, Joe was listening to The Killers' "Indie rock n roll". While singing along, he unconsciously changed the words and broke out into "it's local indie rock for me".
Eugene (Morphy, EMOT) met Joe at Newton that night; and after knocking back a couple of beers, Joe broached the idea of forming a band that only plays covers of local songs.
The idea for the band was still interesting a week later while sober. Thus, Joe and Eugene began roping in Cal (Nuance), Tim (highrise), Yap (singer for theme song to comedy series, "Durian King"), Alexius (Stroll, Morphy) and Ler.
Localbarboy
... is about fun, fun, fun
... covers only local songs
... doesn't play songs from our other/former bands
... plays in venues that serve alcohol
... aims to create a karaoke-friendly environment at our shows, with lyrics on cue boards for the audience to sing-along
Come by our shows, be rowdy, and join us in singing your favourite local songs.

Chronicles of the "Serious" bands
During periods when Localbarboy was taking breaks, various members of the band formed side-project bands; each time, bearing a name ending with "Serious". Invariably, each band broke up at the end of its first gig.
Heartfelt thanks to great friends who contributed or came to the shows.
