EDUCATIONAL MUSIC PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN AGES 4-10
PRESENTS

BETTER KNOWN AS "MISS G" AND HER MUSIC
Music has always been an integral part of my life. At the age of four, I would return from Sunday school and recite each song that was played. I began private piano lessons, but soon clashed with my first teacher on artistic principles. Briefly stated: she wanted me to play the music exactly as written, whereas I preferred to improvise.
My next teacher, however, was blessed with a similar ear for music as mine, and from that point on my progress soared. He incorporated music theory with my studies so that I not only knew how to play, but also what I was playing.
At the age of sixteen he launched my teaching career by requesting that I take over the beginner student’s class. A later project that involved teaching groups of three and four year olds prompted the development of Little House of Music.
Now, thirty years and thousands of little hands later, my greatest desire is to share this program with children around the world, and make available to them the joys of learning and expressing themselves through music. I cherish nothing more than children’s smiles and laughter, eagerness to learn, and their capacity to have fun.
All my students line up their belly-buttons with the middle C; they “play,” not “practice’ the piano; and they learn that the word “can’t” does not exist around my piano; and that when Miss G grows up, her goal is to be a music teacher
