Visit my
website for more blues recordings, articles and acoustic blues guitar
lessons. I'm performing part time and teaching in the southern US and willing to
travel with various supporting musicians or solo. Most of my music is based on
original lyrics but I'm a student of the 1930's Atlanta blues sound which ranges
from rags, country blues and very little electrified urban blues. I still bring
the old Gibson archtop out for appearances at festivals, reunions and special
gigs but I've moved heavily into the prewar pre-electric blues. If you want to
catch me live I often sit in with Danny
(Mudcat) Dudeck on Wed nights at the
Northside Tavern. I
also like to visit Bill Sheffield
on tuesdays and the other acts when I can. There are several annual
festivals in the area I love to play each year. One of my best playing partners
is Ross (Peadboy) Pead from Fairburn, Ga. We do a very authentic Georgia blues
show and travel to festivals and shows in the Georgia area. I also host an
acoustic jam in Conyers, Ga every year and people come from all over the world
to attend and play. See
more photos and videos on my site of annual jam. I'm in my forties now with
all the kids grown and living as empty nesters and have had a couple of decades
of great times with all my friends in the local music scene. I also contribute
to
Acoustic Player Magazine writing articles and featured online lessons. I
hang out on the
acoustic guitar forum there often.

Atlanta Rag preview of new CD
LISTEN TO MORE SOUND CLIPS

In the song preview above titled Atlanta rag I am paying
tribute to many legendary blues artists living and passed away that I've been
inspired by, performed with or knew in past decades. Fat Matt's Rib Shack,
Northside Tavern, Blind Willies are all blues clubs. The Dunk and Dine and
Majestic are all night greasy spoons all the night owls, musicians and drunks
eat at. Highland Ave is right off Ponce De Leon in the heart of mid town near
Little Five Points and many clubs. Countless real events and stories are touched
on and this song just flew out of my pen in a moment of inspiration by BB
Fuller, Blind Willie McTell and their modern counterparts such as Mudcat and
Bill Sheffield. My only regret is not being able to mention dozens of other
great artists I know and love. To you all this is my tribute and hats off to
you. Hope you get some laughs and that song places you in a great mood. I'm
playing on old 1930s instruments with no magical studio overdubs and an old
tomato can and kazoo.
