When I can't warp some trad tune I write it myself, but my stage time is often yanked by singing CIA agent George Shrub, a multi-talent who doubles on guitar and various surveillance instruments.
Influences
My stuff is a mix of Gilbert, Sullivan, Lehrer, Ochs, Dylan, and all the people whose songs I destroyed - that is, appropriated.
Actually Lippman and Shrub are two different people, more or less. Lippman roams the planet searching for the paths to social justice and reports back in songs and spasms of satirical commentary and multimedia edutainments. He is shadowed by singing CIA agent George Shrub, who travels throughout his globalized domain, sharing his Point of View (the Right One) so that people won't need their own. He employs anti-folk songs and interventionary anthems to explain (and enforce) that the business of America is none of your business, that unions are never civil, and that the proper place for himself, like Wal-Mart, is everywhere...Got it?

Hey Dave! Thanks for listening down there and finding me on here! I'm happy you enjoyed it :) Have a wonderful week! -Natalie Youtube. com/NatalieGelman is you music on there too??
I hope you arrived home safely, and enjoyed your tour of America's little aircraft carrier (Britain)AKA Euro-Walmart. Greetings and felicitations for 2008.
I hate walmart too, but I'm embarrassed to say they saved a few more lives than the U.S. Gov't getting bottled water to katrina victims. Of course "more" is relative, and isn't saying much!
Dave...I use your CIA character on my radio show all the time...those 1-2 min clips break up the music wonderfully. I wish I had been in better shape to meet you the last time you were up..anytime you want to come to Vancouver you let me know..I can arrange shows a lot better now that I am nearly TB free!
