Life Birds
is an independent documentary film about birds and humans who watch them.
The film follows Tony “Pointless” Croasdale, singer of the hardcore punk band R.A.M.B.O. and lifelong birder, as he travels the world playing music with his band and seeking birds he has never seen before -- known in birder lingo as 'life birds'.
Along the way, Tony introduces us to the size and scope of birding culture, describing a community whose enthusiasm, dedication, and openness remind him much of the punk scene. From the rainforests of Borneo to the Canadian Arctic tundra, the film follows Tony as he searches for birds and the people who obsess over them.
Ultimately, Tony's journey documents the diversity inherent in birding, and the significant contributions that birding makes to conservation and education.
