Depuis 2003, nouvelle formule pour un festival qui a trouvé ses marques et se conçoit, plus que jamais, dans le mouvement. Cette nouvelle édition fera à nouveau la part belle à des rencontres hautes en couleurs, originales et complices entre le public et les artistes. Ce rendez-vous estival donnera la priorité aux projets de créations multiformes. Comme il est désormais d’usage, un quartier de Rennes fait son échappée belle... Ailleurs, dans une ville habillée aux couleurs du festival, des créations, des avant-premières, des premières françaises, des cartes blanches, des spectacles en accueil, de la musique et des sonorités en roue libre.

Within five years, the festival has succeeded in stating its purpose in the streets, town squares, parks, stages and neighbourhoods of the Breton Capital City. For a week, this iconoclastic event challenges reality to reinvent the city, suburbs as well as the centre, with sounds and movements, with settings, indoors or out and about. Music, theatre, visual arts, audio arts, street entertainment, circus…: the styles mingle and question their boundaries in all sizes of offerings. Every year, a choice of creations and co-productions take the festival on original and innovative projects which fit in the urban geography. Music, theatre and sound mingle outdoors and indoors, each time questioning how the artist and the spectator meet, confront and tame each other in the special time frame of the show. The festival is also open to the world and has become a haven for European creativity. In the past four events, artist such as Jean-Philippe Goude, la Banda Azufaifo, Yann Tiersen, les Mécaniques Vivantes de Franz Clochard, Marc Huyghens, les 26 000 Couverts, Jean-Louis Le Vallégant, Royal de Luxe, À Chahuter, Tiger Lillies, les 17 Hippies, la Banda Santiago de Cuba… have come across each other on the cobblestones and the stages.
