"This is exactly the kind of wake up call that psychedelic metal needs in this country! As far as debut albums are concerned, Power Hor is among the finest I have heard in a long, long time. These four visionaries have brought to the table a heaping helping of seriously heavy music, and I don't think anyone who eats from the table of Lesbian will go away hungry. This band is a force to be reckoned with, and reckon you shall!!" -Kyle O'Donnell, Adequacy.net
"It takes stones for an all male metal band to call themselves Lesbian. But the Seattle quartet who traffic under that provocative name don't seem to be doing so for cheap outrage, but rather out of respect for an oft-beleaguered segment of society. Lesbian grind out pugnacious metal that frequently grows serpentine tendrils of prog-rock introspection and subued virtuosity. You can hear this approach to compelling effect at their gigs and on the band's album, Power Hor. There, Lesbian craft four epic suites of mullet-shredding, high-IQ metal interspersed with pastoral filigrees of King Crimson-oid prog beauty. Lesbian's mastery of dynamics and dramatic mood swings keep their music interesting; they realize your head is there for more than just banging." -Dave Segal
"Definately another 'heavy' winner from the eccentric Holy Mountain label, fresh from their successes with the likes of Om and Mammatus, two other question-mark-metal bands with heady, hypnotic abilities. Their thoat-torn vocals and the weighty riffage argue for Lesbian's status as metallers, while the many passages of quiet blissfulness reveal a surprisingly sensitive side, just as emotionally effective, each opposed aspect of their music enhancing the power and beauty of the other via Lesbian's devastating dynamics and psychedelic synergy. Recommended!" -Aquarius
"Lesbian bring together psychedelic metal and prog rock with unexpectedly agile and concise results. Like King Crimson locked in a room and ordered to deconstruct Metallica's 'Ride the Lightening...(Lesbian) take more than their share of stylistic chances with ornately constructed dirges and time signatures that make hairpin turns when you least expect it." -Hannah Levin
The New Wave Of American Psychedelic Metal
"Mind bending experiments in sludge. A million miles away from stoner rock's myopic, heads-down thumping, Lesbian are making music of such incredible breadth that they really need to devise their own genre to accommodate its scale and ambition. In the same way that Titan have taken space rock, bluesy doom and Krautrock and whipped them into something remarkable, Lesbian's disregard for bong-centric norms is writ large across every minute of 'Power Hor.' A rambling, constantly evolving epic, this boasts roots in purest doom, but what's sprouting from the ground is anything but conventional, as cracked swamp-folk, angular hardcore and pounding, Biblical hard rock all punch it out in a race to blow the most minds possible. Factor in the kind of genius that would choose that band name in the first place, and this is an inarguable must-have for heavy-lidded freaks everywhere." -Dom Lawson, Metal Hammer

Revelation 5/1-14 I saw a scroll in the right hand of the one who sits on the throne; it was covered with writing on both sides and was sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel, who announced in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?" But there was on one in heaven or on earth or in the world below who could open the scroll and look inside it.
I cried bitterly because no one could be found who was worthy to open the scroll and look inside it. Then one of the elders said to me, "Don't cry. Look! The Lion from Judah's tribe, the great descendant of David, has won the victory, and he can break the seven seals and open the scroll." Then I saw a Lamb standing in the centre of the throne, surrounded by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb appeared to have been killed. It had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God that have been sent through the whole earth.
The Lamb went and took the scroll from the right hand of the one who sits on the throne. As he did so, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each had a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of God's people .
They sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to break open its seals.
For you were killed, and by your sacrificial death you bought for God people from every tribe, language, nation and race.
You have made them a kingdom of priests to serve our God, and they shall rule the earth." Again, I looked and I heard angels, thousands and thousands of them! They stood around the throne, the four living creatures, and the elders, and sang in a loud voice: "The Lamb who was killed is worthy to receive power, wealth, wisdom, and strength, honor, glory, and praise!" And I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, in the world below, and in the sea-all living beings in the universe-and they were singin
