Ricki Mason's Interests
General
golfing, camping, football...oh wait, no, I'm not interested in any of those things. Isn't "interests" a funny category? I mean, I'm interested in how the internet works and how lycra was invented, but that's not really what "interests" means, is it?
Music
Brandi Carlile, CocoRosie, Erin McKeown, Girlyman, The Magnetic Fields, Missy Elliot, Neko Case, Old Crow Medicine Show, Tom Waits...I could go on, but you get the idea.
Movies
I've never loved a movie as much as I loved Run Lola Run when I fell in love with it.
Television
I don't even have a t.v. (well, I do but I keep it in the studio attached to a video camera, wink wink) but I'm completely and predictably obsessed with the L Word and Project Runway.
Books
by Rebecca Brown, Michelle Tea, David Sedaris, Chuck Palahniuk (thank you Craig). Written on the Body by Jeanette Winterson is probably the best book ever (thank you Rachel). Definitely read Lipshitz 6 or Two Angry Blondes by T Cooper, it totally kicks ass. And The Danish Girl by David Ebershoff is an incredibly engrossing read.
About me: I think rainy days are sweet because they're familiar. I spend my hours dancing. I love finding worlds in image, movement, and words. I love dreaming big and working hard. I love tendus. I love the early morning but I almost always sleep through it. Mondays make me sad, but not for the usual reasons. There's an amazing girl and a small dog in my life that I love a lot (in different ways). Books are great. So are convertibles, neon signs, and mangoes.

Who I'd like to meet: This question is like "do you want to go backstage after the show?" And it's like, no, not really, because yeah, I'd love to be the kind of friends where we meet for a drink and then go downtown and play dance dance revolution, but really if I go backstage after the show, what would I say?
dear ricki, i am very excited to hear about next week's split show benefit, how come nobody told me sooner? p.s. you totally have gotten me hooked on Flight of the Conchords! Has Heather told you how she wants her and Jody to rap battle them?
Hello Lady! Thanks again for having us over. Any chance I might take a peek at some of the photos Hallie took at your performance? I was hoping to get some shots for my book.
Enjoy the weekend. I'll be working my life away. :) MODE is doing a photo shoot on Sunday. YAY for more makeup.
Hey Ricki! Thanks for coming out to the show this weekend. I really appreciate it. It was great to see you, looks like things are doing you well in the Emerald City.
Part musical cabaret, part mystical mind-expansion - and wholly enjoyable! The premise for the show is as simple as it is unique: a band, an audience, and the honest life-questions of audience members.
hola ricki!!! thanks for adding me... plus thanks for helping me cha cha...! i vow that my music will always be for free. this is the radio trash. nico.
Oh my I loved your message and love you and Hallie and your visits to my desk. Please don't ever stop doing that. Looking forward to hangin when I return.... xo
HIIIIII!!!! i was just talking about you with dawen, about how you were one of my youth heroes, along with pretty much all of my sister's friends. so good to see you're doing big things & look, at least from the internet's standpoint, happy. i'm in seattle quite a bit, we'll have to get a big cup of coffee the next time i'm in town. xo.
i had to pass on the song with mia. it was a bit beyond my meager ukulele capabilities. i would have been afraid of bungling it. but funny you should ask about a solo song. . . i made a quickie garageband recording of one this morning to send to hallie, but then couldn't get it to go through.
that was a swell film, rickarino. you've got an impressively keen eye and a deliciously quirky mind. i am honored and delighted to be working with you. xoxo- jenna bean
The show was so cool! I think we got the last 2 tickets, so it almost didn't happen. You're vid was one of the highlights. Oh, and thanks again for chatting the other day. It was very insightful =)
hey! sorry it took so long to get back to you. i found a photographer for the shoot....and possibly a makeup person. i think the drag idea is great! what's your shedule like? do you know any place that would be good to shoot?
