| Ladies and Gentlemen... JOE FONG!: General Info
| Member Since | 2/24/2007 | | Band Website | politesleeper.com | | Band Members | *Timothy Stuart Wilson* with some guitar by Brian Relph and trumpet by Ryan, but being a product of the people I've made music with, I'd like to list the following individuals/entities, in a rather loose SF Bay chronological order: Brian Relph, Adam peterson, Josh Lee, Manny Bernal and Fleeting Trance, The Why Because collective, Jason Orlovich, Steven Chamberlain, Alan Tarkowski, Adam Zabarsky, Chris Dunn, and Gordon Evans. | | Influences | Windy Sunday BBQs on Arleta. My girlfriend, then not, and now my wife. Frisbee-beer-bottle-bowling in Rockridge. Fourth of July and 400-pound doors on Leach Ave. Rob's Penthouse Apt. Entire weeks of BTS at Slim's. The walk from Golden Gate Ave to Fillmore (bearing north) then west on Sacramento to Presidio (and back again later). Obscure momentary crushes. Late nights of good wine and runny noses. Jules, and how he carried us across the country and back, and stopped when he wanted. Fernet Branca. The moment I looked at the moon in southwest arizona, camping in late april of 1998, and for the first and only time saw that it as a sphere and not just a circle. | | Sounds Like | ...you'll need to add a little low end for quality-of-listening purposes (effing mp3s)

| About Ladies and Gentlemen... JOE FONG! |
Not so much a band as a recording project, L&GJF! began in SF as a means of laying down bits and pieces of melodies and beats, some having been in my head for years, with the idea of later arranging and developing them. Tracks were laid. Life got busy. Tours, Marriage, and moving to New York took their rightful place, and the project was put on the back burner. It was after a few months in Brooklyn that I decided to take another listen to what had been done so far, and I was amazed by how each thing took me right back to its place and time. There was no way I could really add anything to what was there; it just wouldn't make sense after such time and distance, so I decided that L&GJF! was to be a one-time entity, the guy and the album. I would take what was there and that's it. There's one completed track. Some pieces are 20 seconds long. Most don't have words. Some don't change chords once. I still desire to add the narrative and do some arranging, but these tracks certainly aren't doing any good just sitting on my hard drive, so here yo go, just for shits and giggles. This is my San Francisco.
