The band differentiates itself from others by combining musical genres such as metal, rock, symphonic, and doom, and by the haunting melancholic atmosphere the songs create. Kowai is fronted by singer Laura, and completed by singer/grunter/guitarist Bertran, guitarist Arjen, keyboardist Ruben, bassist Rik and drummer Joost.

Kowai has supported bands like Stream of Passion, Trail of Tears, Nemesea and Autumn, reached the finals of the Radio 538 Demo Duel, had airplay on KinkFM, gigged in Paradiso, Bibelot and P60, and even performed internationally.

Currently, Kowai is working hard on their first full-length release (scheduled for late 2013), which is being produced by Joost van den Broek (ex-After Forever). So keep an eye on them by going to one of the live gigs, or by checking out their website/facebook/twitter!
