Kool Boy Classic is the name that represents in the best way the style of this artist, with the right tribute to the pioneers and to the past but meanwhile with the fresh style and with the idea of evolution: all this points are considered by the artist in a period where everything related to the hip hop culture has not been taken in consideration, especially the chose of the artistical name. Federico Elia, as know as KBC was born in the ’87 and wrote his first rhymes in the 2002/2003 (with a different artistical name) but still these rhymes made him just one mc’s among lots of people since he didn’t have any cultural and fundamental supports such as the study of masterpieces and classics hip hop albums and the continuos updating. At the end of 2005 something has been the changed: real important has been the meeting with FatFatCorfunk who led and guided him in a new world, based on an hard study and a constant application, strong passion, style, reality and respect to the past. So, it started the make up for hystorical masterpieces from NY city and not only, increasing the study towards big masters as Rakim, Gangstarr, Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, Kool G Rap, Slick Rick, Black Moon, Heltah Skeltah and Smiff-N-Wessun; got addicted also for supa producers as Dj Premier, Pete rock, Jay Dee, Easy Moe Bee, Lord Finesse, Diamond D, Q Tip, BeatNuts, Buckwild, Large Professor, Havoc, Rza, Dr.Dre, Alchemist, Clark Kent, Beatminerz, MF Doom, Madlib, Just Blaze and many more... Mc’s from the so called “golden age” catched the attention of KBC, who gave him (and are still giving now) the strong inspiration, as Biggie, Nas, Az, Method Man, Redman, Raekwon, Gza, Ghostface, Tupac, Krs One, Big L, Mobb Deep, Cormega, Big Pun, O.C., Buckshot. and so on... This kind of study is clearly linked to the constant and frenetic updating in order to continue with new styles. To be update for this artist is relevant, like comparing with the overseas “new cats”: a comparing that KBC keep always in terms of evolution, thanks to the contribute of the pioneer from the 80s. From Kool Moe Dee to the Ultramagnetic mc’s, from Just Ice to the Fat Boys, from the Furious 5 to Rakim, from Biz Markie to Big Daddy Kane… To be only MC is not all for KBC but as well he has got the necessity of being part of Hip Hop Culture, by sharing all the not written principles which has created a movement as a culture (and so, something that should be studied and understood day by day). The study of this culture is essential for him, since he has got a mentality like a B-boy, even though young but who has understood the difference between “being a rapper” and “being an original B-boy” and as well “to rhyme for rash” and “hip hop as a way of life”. Kool Boy Classic è il nome che rappresenta in maniera ottimale lo stile di questo artista, con il dovuto tributo ai pionieri e al passato, ma con la freschezza del nuovo e l'importanza dell'evoluzione; tutto ciò in un periodo sterile in cui l'importanza del nome sembra quasi dimenticata. Federico Elia alias KBC nasce nell'87, incide le prime rime nel 2002-2003 [sotto altro pseudonimo] che lo rendono però un mc tra tanti, poichè gli mancano supporti fondamentali come lo studio di grandi classici d'oltreoceano ed il continuo aggiornamento. Con la fine del 2005 la svolta: importantissimo l'incontro con Fat Fat Corfunk che gli apre le porte di un mondo completamente nuovo, fatto di studio frenetico, costante applicazione, forte passione, stile, realtà e profondo rispetto per il passato. A Kool Boy Classic non basta fare l' M.C. ma necessita' continuamente di sentirsi parte integrante dell' HipHop Culture, condividendone i principi non scritti ma che hanno reso questo movimento una Cultura a tutti gli effetti e in quanto Cultura bisognosa di uno studio assiduo per poter essere compresa giorno per giorno in un modo massiccio ma mai abbastanza esaudiente: e proprio da queste ultime parole dipende il suo approfondimento sfrenato sintomo di una mentalita' da B-Boy molto giovane ma che ha gia' percepito la differenza tra un "semplice rapper" [cosa che non lo riguarda] ed un "original B-Boy", tra un "rimare come valvola di sfogo" [cosa che non lo riguarda] e la "Cultura HipHop come stile di vita". "Vera scuola con la testa della Vecchia e la freschezza della Nuova / Vera scuola da Doctor J a Melo Anthony , dal Kangol al New Era e' Vera scuola"....questo e' il ritornello che apre la carriera di Kool Boy Classic.
