They attracted a good deal of critical interest after their debut release, not least because they had secured cover artwork from legendary heavy metal artist Pushead (singer for Septic Death, but best known for his work with Metallica), and had Glenn Danzig (of Misfits and Danzig fame) on production duties. The resultant album was an exercise in heated nihilism and aggressive angst. Potent, painfully gritty and, at times, oddly poignant, Kinghorse were perhaps too unremittingly bleak for most tastes.
