I am a solo accoustic performer at the moment. I play small venues and have opened up for the likes of Billy Joe Shaver, Gary P. Nunn, Doug Moreland, Eleven Hundred Springs, Aaron Watson, Max Stalling, Kevin Fowler, Daryl Dodd, and the list goes on! I've been singing and writing songs for about 5 years and have had quite a bit of success. "Copenhagen Kisses" received radio play in 3 states, across Texas, Oklahoma, and it was programmed to 76 stations in Las Vegas, Nevada!
I grew up in Garden City, Texas, but I now reside else where. Garden City was an interesting place to grow up and it inspired much of my writing. I am 26 years old and plan on being in the music business forever! I am interested in the songwriting and publishing side of the industry.....and I love to perform!
If you have not heard of Steve Tenpenny, please check him out! www.SteveTenpenny.com I had the opportunity to record on his Live From Texas album in Waxahachie, Texas at the Texas Theater. You will hear an awesome duet we recorded called "Angel."
One of my recent projects was stopping by Bismeaux Studio during Thanksgiving in Austin to record on Aaron Watson's gospel album, Barbed Wire Halo. I sing on tracks 11 and 12, "Farther Along and Amazing Grace." I also recorded back up vocals for Aaron's Live at the Texas Hall of Fame in Bryan, TX. That was an experience......singing in front of 1600 screaming drunk Aggies! About 600 more people were turned away at the door! Another back-up vocal project of mine was Aaron's Watson's the Honky Tonk Kid. Aaron and I go way back. We both attended Abilene Christian University and we attend the same church! You will find songs on my album co-written by Aaron and Neal Lowry, another friend of ours.
I recently drove to Oklahoma to record on a Gene Autry 100 Year Celebration album. I recorded "Don't Fence Me In" with Sunny Sweeny that day. Through several other sessions across Texas and Oklahoma, the song was graced with the voices of several Texas artists! More details to come!
