All those close to her will always know her as "Kimi" and that is how they spell it too.

Adopted at age two by her step father (who had two older children named Kay & Jim by his previous marriage) along with Kimi's baby sister Juli and her older sister Karen. Kimi's mother also had a son named "Robert" but he always lived in Georgia with his father. Kimi's mother and step father went on to have another child... a baby girl named Lori.

At such a young age Kimi never knew any other name except for Gerred until her mother told her about her real birth name.

Kimi never saw her birth certificate until she was about 48 years old. Kimi was so shocked that she framed it where it remains today.

California Changed her name back to the way that appears on her birth certificate "Kimmy Darlene Nelson" on March 4th, 2013 and wiped out 48 years of her life as Kimi Gerred.

So just think of her books as written in a type of a "pen name" as most of them were published in Gerred.

Amazon prefers her to use 3 different author pages because there are three different "pen" names that Kimi has written in and used.
