Taking their musical cues from the horn-infused alternative pop of the Rumble Strips, Leeds, U.K., quintet Kid iD came together in 2004 when university student Ralph Pelleymounter (guitar, vocals) met Will More (drums, vocals) and Josh Platman (bass, cello, vocals).
The three began performing together and were joined soon after by Pete Mycroft (trumpet, vocals, percussion) and Ian Dudfield (trombone, vocals, percussion). The newly completed ensemble performed throughout the U.K. in 2006 and released its debut album, That Dreaded Monster What If, in 2008. The album garnered airplay on BBC radio and led to spots at the Reading and Leeds festivals later that same year. ~ Katherine Fulton
