About KFAR Jewish Arts Center

KFAR Jewish Arts Center is an independent arts agency whose mission is to stimulate, promte and produce the next generation fo Jewish expression, igniting symbiotic relationships between artists and audiences that creaete conduits to Jewish culture and inspire new perspectives on our heritage.

KFAR is best known for Tzitzit: Voices from the Jewish Fringe, a concert series that presents the most exciting contemporary, Jewish musical acts at Chicago best live music venues.

That's not all we do. Our Borscht events are an outlet for local poets, musicians and actors to contribute to Jewish beat culture. The Synagogue Hosting Initiative for Renewal in Music (SHIRIM) helps Chicago congregations present subsidized, KFAR style events for their communities. We also produce the annual Knishmas and Yom HaatzmaART celebrations. Our blog, JewishFringe.com, gives news and views from the j-tip and the Jewish Artists Regional Touring Service helps spread KFAR programming to communities across the country.
