PCs, exotic animals, Volkwagens, Cartoons, Classic Horror movies, Britcoms.... that's me in a nutshell.
Music
random
Movies
classic horror, sci-fi
Greatest movie ever made, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz! Ok, maybe not the greatest ever, but pretty darn good.
SuperBad: This film is a true classic.
If it has Vincent Price, Jerry Lewis or Dorris Day in it I'll try watching it. I'm not really into serious drama ... have enough of that, it's called real life thanks. Comedy, anime, cartoons, horror and sci-fi... otherwise I'd prefer reading or chilling with one of my pets.
Television
britcoms, cartoons, sci-fi, and of course PBS. PBS is pretty under rated folks, give it a chance.
Top Gear
Reddwarf
As Time Goes By
RedGreen
Ben10
Justice League
Heroes
Big Bang
Dr Who (old and new)
Books
Don't have time for them as of late, occasional comics like Green Latern, Spectre, Doom Patrol, etc. Otherwise I read books on animals and how to help learn new software.
Heroes
Fictional heroes: Spiderman, Spawn, Martian Manhunter, Hourman, the crew of DP7 and of course.... Captain Carrot and his amazing Zoo Crew.
My real life heroe would be Jerry Lewis for being one of the greatest comedians of all time and maybe Jeff Corwin for helping get the message out about how important nature is, protecting wildlife is in our best interests. And of course Steve Irwin... god bless his soul.
About me: I own Kens exotics http://www.kensexotics.com offering quality exotic pets, breeder pairs and display specimens for zoo's.
I meet some real interesting people (sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.. ok some time some major asses). Some people have been fell for online scammers with $1000 monkeys and think that everyone online selling animals are scammers... HELLO!! if you pay only $1000 for a Capuchan odds are that it is a scam. Research before you buy, then call the BBB to check for complaints, and final ask for a few references. Please remember, I do not have to sell an animal to any buyer, if someone comes off as being a person that would not be a good fit for an animal I will not hesitate to halt the sale.
I am into the exotic animal hobby. I like to think that I know more about animals than most people... but am always open to learn more from people that have more experience than me.
I grew up in IL... which happens to be a fairly non exotic pet freindly state. Can't say I ever really fit in when growing up, always pretty much an outcast, sometimes by choice but not always. It's hard to relate to people that are so different from you. I have such a narrow field of interests such as exotic pets, Volkswagen cars to some degree, nature in general, sci-fi/fantasy film, books and comics. I despise more sports, I never had any desire to be a part of any sport... partly since I feel that in any sport there will be two parties, one party of winners and one party of loosers. It is never a good feeling to give it your all and loose, and lets face it... sports are all about winning.
Music, yah.. like just about anything but I'm not "into" anything real heavy. I do like jazz, blues and old school swing and big brass bands. Heavy metal is always ok with me as well.
People I hate, Tom Barns. Total fag.. can't take what he dishes out. Tom, you are the biggest puss that I HAVE ever seen! It amazes me how an entire family can turn out to be such rotten eggs, all thinking they are Gods Greatest Gift to man... and treating everyone around them like dirt. In the end, everything comes back to you... karma.
Who I'd like to meet: Jerry Lewis.... he is the only famous person that I have any desire to meet. I am an avid collector of his autographs, currently have a rare life cast that I have yet to find copy of.
If Vincent Price were still alive, it would be a pleasure to meet him and talk with him.
I've met Jessie Jackson.... got his autograph. At the time he asked what I did for a living and I told him what I did (at that time I was a supervisor for a custodial department while I was getting my online store off the ground) and he laughed. Well Jessie, you lost my respect that day. Those kids in IL that he was here to defend... they were all punks. They pissed all over the floor and walls of the 3rd floor bathroom to disrespect the courthouse. I'm not talking little puddles guys, I'm talking break out the wet vac type of mess. Glad I didn't have to clean it up... it's good to have flunkies.
Just stopping by to say "Hi" and a reminder the website is frequently updated, has printable posters right from the site- much legislative info for many areas and species. http://www. rexano. org/ Visit often to learn more and know what is happening that may affect your rights or others.
I have recently emailed various congress members through a great new tool at www. congress. org which will greatly simplify our fight. With this tool, all of us can easily send the same message to our state and federal lawmakers. We can also send the same message to newspapers, radio, magazines and TV shows such as the Oprah show (which I have done and wish for more to do, although you will have to use the interface to create a letter to mail... don't worry they give you the address to mail the letter to).
About now, most of us who owned Prairie Dogs at the time of the ban have lost our beloved pets due to old age. Most of us want to replace these pets with new PD pups, only to find that the ban is still in place (lets face it, Richardson ground squirrels are not the same as PD's nor are they easy to source). The only way that we can stop this ban is to raise hell! EVERY ONE OF US MUST DO OUR PART BY USING THE www. congress. org TO CONTACT OUR LAWMAKERS AND VOICE OUR DISGUST WITH THIS UNJUST BAN! If we all do our part, we will win in the end. Make sure to use the following media link to send letters to your radio, newspapers, TV and other media which will get even more people involved and put more pressure on the FDA and lawmakers to drop the ban. The media link is http://www. congress. org/congressorg/dbq/media/, simply click your state to get a listing of your state media contacts. Copy and past your letter (keep your letters to about 300words if sending to newspapers, otherwise they may not print them) into the provided field and you are done, that's all their is to it.
Help win the fight to own Prairie Dogs again (the zoo's are still displaying and breeding their PD's, why can't we do the same?)!
Links to use for contacting lawmakers and the media. Write up a paragraph stating that you wish to have the FDA ban on buying Pet Prairie Dogs halted. It does not have to be extravagant, keep it simple and make sure to send this to your
MyHotComments Thanks for adding REXANO to your friends and helping spread the word. Any friends you have that want to learn more and help keep our rights, please send them a link.
I'm urging people to contact Bow Tie Press to get them to change the format of Critters USA back to true exotic animals OR launch a new annual or bi-annual dedicated to exotics and SUPER exotics as well as species conservation.
Hey there everyone! Thanks for the continued support. Anyone with a personal website or myspace site is welcome to put a link to Ken's Exotics www.kensexotics.com.
As many of you already know - The Sanctuary is quickly being surrounded by development and we need to purchase land right now to stop the growth before it creates a situation where the sanctuary would have to move its entire operation! Right now you can help the animals obtain more habitat… and also help us prevent having to spend millions on moving and rebuilding! Many of you have helped us with this cause already… and we have raised over half of the $270,000 needed to secure the land – but we only have about 3 days to raise the rest of the money – so we need your help right now!!! Please watch this new video about our urgent need at the Animal Sanctuary...
Please pass this on to everyone you know in order to make this happen! Anyone can donate to help save this land by donating at our secure web site (click on the link below):
