"...Wild is too good to remain secret for long. Seeing her perform is no less impressive. With an earnest singing style and casually friendly relationship with the audience, watching Wild play is like seeing someone who is ready to emerge..."
-Rockford Register Star
"...performances were outstanding, especially the young Kelsey Wild. This 16-year-old has the stage presence of someone twice her age.....Keep your eyes on this talent, eveyone. Should she choose, Kelsey Wild could go places."

Somebody somewhere must know who Kelsey Wild is, considering she gets at least 600 Myspace plays a day, but I can’t figure out who. There isn’t much about her online, and when I attended her one local show a few months ago at a tiny piano bar in a hipster neighborhood in Wicker Park, there were five people in the room - - that’s counting myself and two of my friends. Maybe this is because she isn’t old enough to drink. Who knows?
Pretty disappointing considering what an amazing show it was. So who is she? She’s this ridiculously cute seventeen-year-old girl with an astounding voice, impeccable piano skills, and the cutest stage demeanor. I’m convinced this girl is a major label’s wet dream. Her songs are mature and well written, and her voice rocks you into deep thought.
Listen to “Meaningless” and remind yourself that this girl isn’t even old enough to buy a pack of smokes.

hello, my name is kelsey. i was born on friday the thirteenth. is that an interesting fact? i don't know, maybe not. i have lived in places like hawaii and california, but mostly i have lived in rural illinois. i like the country here but i feel like i might like the city better. i like the feeling of connectedness that comes from being in a place where someone else is sleeping or drinking a glass of OJ or having an argument somewhere close to you. it's an interesting study in humanity; you can learn things by observing how people hold the leashes of their dogs tightly and walk fast and slow. or maybe it will be isolating, having people so close yet never really knowing them. i am moving to a city in a week, so i shall see.
here in the country, i like the physical solitude. you really can still sit under a tree in a field and read a book and pretend you're a person in a movie sitting under a tree in a field reading a book and no one will tell you otherwise.
i'm eighteen now. i enjoy food and art, books, and most of all music. actually, i suppose i just like the act of creating things. i am normal and boring. i want to do something good with my life and have fun and achieve things and meet interesting people. i plan on getting a lot smarter someday.
that's my biography for today.
