Actually my skills are more diverse. Not only an I able to create websites, but I also have skills in video/audio postproduction, screenwriting, graphic design, desktop publishing, and camera operating.
I was born on February 3, 1979 in Corpus Christy, Texas, but lived most of my life in Lancaster, Ohio. Growing up I was regarded as an unusual and shy child. Some of my teachers in elementary school thought I had learning disabilities. Ha! All has been proven bunk since I am a college graduate and extremely intelligent. I used to be afraid of what others thought of me, but I'd rather be true to myself and embrace the things that make me truly unique.
My hobbies are anime, furry, sci-fi, fantasy, Internet, history, cryptozoology, weird stuff, reading, writing, drawing, sculpting, camping, hiking and martial arts. I'm third degree brown belt in Shuri-Ryu Karatedo. I owe much to all of my senseis: Willard Malone, Joe Wenger and Bill Gorby.
What are my objectives in life? Primarily, is to land a job in my field. Ideally, I'd love to work in the anime industry for companies such as FUNimation, ADV, or Geneon. Ideally I'd like to work on writing scripts/subtitles, touch-up animation, and DVD menus/case, etc. I'm very fortunate to know a few people in the industry, but I'm at a crossroads to see if this is something I really want to do.
I recently submitted my resume to a local web firm, whom may be calling me in for an interview. I will be keeping my fingers crossed.
My one other objective is to study Shuri-Ryu karate for as long as I can. I'm not sure how many women are passionate about martial arts, but I see it as not only a self defense, but also as a basic guideline for life. I was never a natural athlete nor was I the most confident person during my teenage years, but karate offered me the necessary things to allow myself to grow and realize that it's not others, but ourselves who set up limitations. You can better yourself if you have the will and desires (and in my case, the stubbornness).
Who I'd like to meet: Late O Sensei Robert Trias, O Sensei Roberta Trias-Kelly, Masi Oka (Hiro!!!), Hayao Miyazaki, Akira Toriyama, Rumiko Takahashi, Monkey Punch, Mike Curtis, Late J.R.R. Tolkien.
Hey there Angie! I really enjoyed looking at your myspace site! Guess what! We have the same birthday! I was born on Feb 3rd too (1981). Pretty cool! I haven't worked with you in a long time. Hope I get to soon.
Hey Ang! Thanks for the picture comment! The picture was taken at Old Man's Cave (Cedar Falls). I bet it's beautiful down there now that the leaves have changed!
