Meanwhile, you can download lots of music from me here: nekodashi.com Other wise, just read this self aggrandizing piece of propaganda:
Called "Ultraklystron" when a Nerdcore Hiphop MC/Producer or Drum n' Bass artist. Called "Fun Confusion" when doing ambient and experimental music. Called "CouZ-n CaRl" when doing a silly one shot CD for laughes. The rest of the time Karl Olson. Student. Anime and Manga Fan, well fan of good ones atleast. Fan of good animation in general really. Reporter, reviewer, moderator and podcast engineer/producer for ToonZone.net. Freelanced for Joong-Ang Daily newspaper. Computer geek to extent of looking into making that my career. Old skool video gamer. Case modder sorta (I have ideas, just no money to implement them.)
I've been working on music since I was about oh, 10-years-old-ish. Started in alternative/grunge, moved into electronica after being introduced to it via Mtv AMP and after recognizing I didn't need a band to be an electronica artist. Focused in on drum n' bass after being introduced to Jungle Sky Records and Roni Size/Reprasent. Played with that and got some attention for it (featured on some episodes of CBC's Zed, played on the Netherlands' equivalent to NPR for a special on internet music, downloaded a hundred thousand times or so, interviewed by a local newspaper, a college newspaper twice and a local TV station.) Added Nerdcore HipHop to my genre interests after hearing "Rappers We Crush" from Kompressor featuring MC Frontalot. Took a few years before actually getting my first full-length CD together, but I managed to sell through my initial run of 50 CDs, and I recieved a little bit of attention for it from folks (including being one of the artists featured in an upcoming documentary about nerdcore hiphop,) so I decided to work on another Nerdcore CD which is pretty near done. Meanwhile I've got 2-3 CDs of electronic music (mostly drum n' bass) that need to be remastered and remixed in Reason 3.0, and then re-released too.
Oh, and here are a few videos of me performing, sometimes with other people:
I've been listening to Opensource Lyricist nonstop in my car. It's like the greatest rap CD ever. I think I like Full Disclosure is probably my favorite, although all the songs are favorites. Best 14 bucks I spent.
Digging "Duplicate" and "Fashionable". Your flow has always been pretty good, but you've stepped things up a bit with these new track. Well done, good sir.
Thanks much for the comment! Once we get the ball a bit more rollin' how 'bout a complimentary hat for general plugingness and recommending? Eh? Eh? Eeeeeehhh?
I just though I would mention that I'm bumping both of your (rap) CDs in my car (I ripped the mp3s and have them on one disc), and they SOUND FREAKING AMAZING when you play them at high volume. I almost feel guilty playing such hi-def music on my crappy car stereo.
Alright! I uploaded your live concert performance of Girls with Glasses. It's in multiple formats (including DivX High-Def) so check out my blog post to watch it!
Hey, I'm about to upload your Girls with Glasses performance from CES. Do you want me to credit you as Ultraklystron or Karl Olsen? Tell me ASAP, or Karl Olsen it is!
Press Start to Rock loves Ultraklystron! Yo Karl, it was great playin' a show with you and fantastic listening to you spit. Just wanted to thank everyone we can for the show!
