Having played together for a number of years in their small suburbia of Skelleftea, Sweden, Dan Larsson (vocals/ bass) and Mohammed Khan (drums/ keyboards) started Jupither in 1997 after the recruitment of guitarists Olov Nilzen and Christopher Falkman.
With this lineup having less than a year's experience under their belt, their EP debut, It's Planetary, was released in 1998 on SPEECH Records complete with catchy guitar riffs, power pop and all. Nicolas Nuzzaci soon joined the band as a full-time bassist before licensing It's Planetary to Crank! Records out of Los Angeles. Jupither soon followed with a second single entitled "Star" in 1999. Not bad for a group of kids who at the time were barely out of high school. ~ Mike DaRonco
