Who I'd like to meet:
The Mission
The mission of YDEK Diabetes Support Group is to spread diabetic awareness to the furthest point we can. This site was made to tell as many people as we can about why this disease could use support, and why awareness should be spread. Diabetes can lead to weakness, illness, and even death. There is no time to just joke around, this site is made to start spreading awareness to everyone and tell them to donate, and if they do not have the money, to just spread the awareness themselves, and to do it NOW so that we can make "A Little Bit Longer" come soon. I as the owner of YDEK dedicate my countless hours of time and hard effort on this site, and to make our mission happen.

What is Diabetes?
All the following information was found here I do not claim to have written any of this
Symptoms: Frequent trips to the bathroom, Unquenchable Thirst, Losing Weight Without Trying,Weakness and Fatigue,Tingling or Numbness in Your Hands, Legs or Feet,Blurred vision, skin that is dry or itchy, and frequent infections or cuts and bruises that take a long time to heal.
Type 1 diabetes: Type 1 diabetes is a chronic (lifelong) disease that occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin to properly control blood sugar levels. Diabetes is a lifelong disease for which there is not yet a cure. There are several forms of diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is often called juvenile or insulin-dependent diabetes. In this type of diabetes, cells of the pancreas produce little or no insulin, the hormone that allows glucose to enter body cells.
Without enough insulin, glucose builds up in the bloodstream instead of going into the cells. The body is unable to use this glucose for energy despite high levels in the bloodstream. This leads to increased hunger.
In addition, the high levels of glucose in the blood cause the patient to urinate more, which in turn causes excessive thirst. Within 5 to 10 years, the insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas are completely destroyed and the body can not longer produce insulin.
Type 1 diabetes can occur at any age. Many patients, however, are diagnosed after age 20.
Type 2 Diabetes:Type 2 diabetes is alife-long disease marked by high levels of sugar in the blood. It occurs when the body does not respond correctly to insulin, a hormone released by the pancreas. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes.Insulin resistance means that insulin produced by your pancreas cannot get inside fat and muscle cells to produce energy. Since the cells are not getting the insulin they need, the pancreas produces more and more. Over time, abnormally high levels of sugar build up in the blood. This is called hyperglycemia. Many people with insulin resistance have hyperglycemia and high blood insulin levels at the same time. People who are overweight have a higher risk of insulin resistance, because fat interferes with the body's ability to use insulin.Type 2 diabetes usually occurs gradually. Most people with the disease are overweight at the time of diagnosis. However, type 2 diabetes can also develop in those who are thin, especially the elderly.and to let you guys know, having Diabetes does not mean you are truly different than anyone else, it just means that you have to be more careful than others, and take care of yourself. So please if you EVER find out that you are diagnosed, just realize everything WILL be okay as long as you are careful. Dont let ANYONE tell you there is something wrong with you, because there isnt, and I am always here if you need someone to talk to and yes, I know I can not truly relate to you since I am not diabetic, but I still want to be there for all of you, and really do care.

You Dont Even Know Diabetes Support Group was started on February 15th, 2008. It started out all because of one special boy that inspired it all, Nicholas Jerry Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. This site was made to not only show support for Nick, and to bring his fans together to show him support, but to bring his fans and non-fans together to show EVERY SINGLE diabetic support. This site is somewhere I want EVERYONE to be able to come to for anything they need. Whether that reason is for hope, or to show their support. I just want everyone to just know that someone is there for them. I really also want people to realize one thing, diabetes does not make people much more different than you, they just have a lot more they have to handle than most. May you enjoy this site, and learn a little more about diabetes, and why YOU should support it. Because even us, just young fans of a boy who has made a huge impact in our life, CAN make a difference, and I intend to prove that. So join me today, and let's prove to everyone that has EVER doubted us because we were young, that we CAN and WILL make a difference.

She owns 209 Jonas, and recently turned it into a support group for YDEK and for diabetics as well. Celeste in the past month has supported the site so much, and I am very thankful.
