New artist J* Smith is one of a kind! This born and raised California beach girlis determined to make her wave through the music charts and feels that her album will be her ticket to do so. This pop diva will definitely bring your emotions out, and have you partying it up in the club. J*s new single "MY BODY" brings out her passion and energy for music. At the tender age of five J saw her first Broadway musical and knew from that very moment she wanted to perform! At age 9 she then joined the California Jr. Light Opera Company (A traveling Broadway group for kids) where she performed for two years, and at the Macy awards which allowed her to win the title of "Best performing Actress."
In Jr. High, J continued her love for entertainment by participating in the Drama club, playing the violin in the orchestra, and entering school talent shows. J claims her passion for music comes from her dad. At just the tender age of five she would rock out with his garage band, where they claimed she stole the show. As a freshman in high school her family relocated from Laguna Niguel, Ca to Corona, Ca. This 4.0 graduating honors student from Santiago High school, has received her varsity letters not only in Academics but the Dramatic Arts as well. She loved being a part of the United Theatre and was privileged to play parts in many productions such as Peter Pan, The Dream Ribbon, Pride and Prejudice, Father Of the Bride and many More. J*s Senior year she was pronounced Miss Corona where she then went on to win Miss Inland Cities, Miss Inland Counties, And Miss Cosmopolitan. At Nationals J was offered a portfolio package and agency representation, where she later had signed.
Meanwhile, J was also working with her girl group Intensity everyday after school. J choreographed and wrote lyrics for the group. Although they all went there separate ways she continued to work hard, leading her to get featured roles on That’s so raven, Gilmore Girls, and an indie movie called Stupid Cupid. In 2004, While working at a four star Italian food restraunt in Corona called Villa Amalfi, and a freshman at O.C.C. one of the biggest tragedies occurred in her life putting her career on hold for awhile. Coronas beauty queen and two girlfriends had been in a fatal accident, which almost cost her life! The three girls were hit by a wrong way drunk driver, leaving her and one of her friends in the hospital, and the loss of the other. Where she then joined Mothers against Drunk drivers and put on a charity event with twenty different bands, activities for the kids and local food venues. After eight months of long hard recovery and therapy J was offered a featured reoccurring role on the WB’s Jack and Bobby as a cheerleader,and was pronounced a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
In 2005 J signed with S.A.S. and The Samantha Group and continued to go on auditions where she was featured in several music videos, Desperate Housewives, South Of Nowhere,Habersham Hall, and a fox pilot as the character Lolita in More Patience. Jessica, Also continued in Pageantry, where she won the titles of Miss Lemon Festival, Miss Corona (for her second year), and Miss Riverside County. In October of 2006 J arrived back home from Albania, where she competed as The U.S. representative in Miss Globe International (The fourth largest Pageant in the world) where she is proud to announce she made the finals and won Miss congeniality. J also had the pleasure of releasing a self titled song called "Never Thought" on international television live in front of one hundred twenty million people, in twenty seven major countries. She gives a special thanks to her wonderful sponsors Ed Hardy, Jelessy Jeans, Hot Tuna, EBA designs, Infusion Magazine, and Nitro 2 Go, to name a few.
With the year drawing to an end J has achieved many great things and still has more in the works! From shining on star studded red carpet events, to competing in the Miss Planet Competition in Greece, a wearablz catalog add in ok magazine, shooting on the hit television show Heroes, radio interviews, working with the industries top choreographer Darrien Henning, and being in the studio with top Platinum producers. This girl is unstoppable! On November 15th she will release her debut single at what is announced to be Hollywood's hottest party of the year!
