Hi, New Library Friend!!!

Thanks for your help introducing teens to the first ever MG/YA novel published in real time in a blog format.
New episodes of "Giant Girl Rampages" are posted most weekdays, sometimes twice. It's hard to fit in when you're living large!

Worst Applebees experience ever today.
I think the waiter was flirting with my boyfriend.
Which was weird.
So I think Jake?, our waiter had a secret (or two).
That was kind of awkward.
And then they spilled my dr pepper on my lap.
4 cent discount though...
Yeah...
Because our waiter was too lazy to find exact change.
Unpleasent.

Will took me out to dinner because he's going to be gone this week, and he wanted to see me before he left and just...ugh.
Dumb applebees.

A poem provided in observance of National Poetry Month.

Crystal Clear Blue Skies

Towers weep on peaceful shores.
Crystal clear blue skies.
Across the water, we answered the call,
Never questioning why.

Race over the berm and down the road,
Rebuilding ancient Babylon.
Smiles, waves, and shouts of joy.
Gratuities of hidden fire and roadside bombs.

Blistering sun and mouths full of sand,
White salt stains chalk the skin.
Handshake through a turret gun sight,
Peace attempted to win.

Pain, anxiety, disillusionment,
Seek comfort in each other.
Go back again, one more time,
Only for my sister or brother.
