Take a few minutes of your day to check out this weeks Band of the Week, Joy Wants Eternity.
Their songs are lush, atmospheric soundscapes reminiscent of Mogwais more beautiful and melodic moments. But they also obviously find inspiration in My Bloody Valentine.
"...The EP is astounding, the title seems to invite you to interpret the music visually... Nonetheless I did try to imagine what could be happening and, to me, the music conjured up the scene from Bambi where his mother dies. Except instead of being shot shes hit by a jumbo-jet, oh and it was all in space. 4/5"
"Must You Smash Your Ears Before You Learn to Listen With Your Eyes" is a chilling recounting of everything that is going right in the post-rock world.
"...Their ambient sound unfurls comfortably, layering keyboard melodies over amber guitar riffs and astral drones, similar to Kinski's lighter moments or Slowdive's wordless sprawls...."
"...The positives definitely outweigh the negatives on Joy Wants Eternity's debut performance. The band is able to tell a good story using only music and a vision. The album, for the most part, is as cohesive as anything you'll pick up in the bins of your local record establishment. There's a passion exuding from each and every one of these songs, making it impossible not to be infected with JWE's spirit and vigor...."
I have to admit that I discovered your music yesterday and I can't stop listening to your Must You Smash Your Ears Before You Learn To Listen With Your Eyes on last. fm. Really great stuff!

Hey dudes! It's me Shawn! I got a friend request from a Salo which I had originally thought it was Salo as in Salo the guy you guys know that is also in your band that is this band that I am writing to. But funny thing on the way to the office is that Salo as in the Salo I had originally started this previous conversatation about not the Salo I was more recently talking about unless you count the time I was specifying which of the two Salos that I was talking about. To be more specific I am currently speaking not of the Salo that you know that is in your band the band in which I am currently conversing with, Salo as in the Salo that has recently requested my friendship is actually the name of another band which is quit enjoyable and has some very nice logos that I think would be wise for you to look over and consider applying this currant style to your future marketing purposes. Here is a link to their page.
