“I feel like Music is my life's blood," says Josh Noone, who has been playing and writing
music since he was given his first guitar at age 13. Since then, it has been a winding road filled with odd jobs, great opportunities, utter disappointment and wonderful people.
Noone's music tackles subjects from love and everyday life to important social and political issues. It’s influenced by all that he can take in, but only recently he says has he found his listening groove. "I like to go to small shows, hit open mics, and listen to local artists, because I get a lot out of this untapped market. I definitely enjoy more known acts as well." As of lately, Noone's music player is filled with the likes of Ween, Antje Duvekot, Rage Against the Machine, Damien Rice, Moller, Jack Johnson, Phallic Medallion, Rocky Vataloto, to Cypress Hill just to name a few.
Considering himself more of a live musician than one who likes to spend his time in the studio, Noone explains, "I like to play off the feedback from the crowd; I love the interaction, I love the energy! I'm drawn to the feeling in the air when you've just silenced a noisy room with a song." And with a grin and a sly smile, he adds, “It’s nice when you can get them a little rowdy too.”
Hey Josh, We're at Paper City Brewery in Holyoke tonight at 6PM. Stop in if you're not busy. Hell, bring your guitar and sing a few songs if you want. 6-8PM and $6 for all the beer you can drink in that time. 108 Cabot St. 5th Floor, Holyoke, MA.
JOSH! Great time hangin' in Keene, NH last friday... Your band sounded great, and we all really enjoyed your NIN/Johny Cash cover, not to mention the original stuff. Keep it up, and let's get together for a gig soon. Cheers, SHADWELL
aw! That sounds fun! Was it just fun with friends or was it an actual performance? next time can we dress the horses in lil go-go dance outfits and let them dance in the field? I bet they would have more fun that way... Keep us posted on the barely legal gig!
Do you like 80s style Hard Rock? Then stop by the Barely Legal page when you get a chance and check out a rough mix of our new song "NIGHTLINE" and please let us know what you think.
Hey Josh: We're really sorry about the "Rock Against Violence" event being cancelled. Noticing that you've got two events scheduled in the Keene NH area this Summer, we're looking forward to hearing your Band jam there.
THE NIGHT OF TUESDAY JUNE 10TH, @ THIRSTY JOHN'S!!
My production partner Monica and I will be in town to hold some meetings and get out some info about the film CRUELTY which we'll be shooting in October in Palmer and Sutton MA...
Come out, hang out, drink with us!! We're going to need extras for a few scenes to be shot in Palmer, one of them at Thirsty John's- so if you're interested, come over and check it out!!
I mentioned to Jesse the possibility of a summer performance outside. If you’re interested let me know. You could set up in the parking lot next to the big bad clock tower.
Yeah, expect for the last one. It’s really old stuff. I don’t post on myspace anymore.
We appreciate the fact that you like our picture. However, sir, we could do with out the profanity as we aim to be a wholesome, family-oriented group ... we're Phallic Medallion for pete-sake!
That's awesome. I'm glad you had a good time. I had a horrible headache. I would have been a complete party pooper (which is not like me at all). Hopefully you'll play again soon!
Unfortunately not. I got sick earlier this week and I tried to stick it out but this morning there was no way I could go into work. I still don't feel good so I'm not going out. Which sucks cuz I haven't seen Hooked since the last time they played with you. I was really looking forward to going but I know going out will only make me feel worse all weekend. :(
