About me:
Josh McGuire Racing is a dirt late model team out of Grayson, KY. I am Josh, the driver of the 41 machine who has had a dream of racing since I was little and thanks to the support of my family, friends and sponsors, I am able to live out this awesome opportunity. I have big shoes to fill considering, my Uncle Wayne, is one of the most legendary drivers on the east coast. He dominated with his 41 Pontiac and if I can be half as great as he was, I will have accomplished a lot! I started racing in 2001 in the Bomber division and within the next two years moved into Late Models. I started racing full seasons of Late Models around 2004 and have hit the ground running ever since. I am proud of what I have accomplished so far, but still know I have a long ways to go.
As I mentioned this is truly a family sport for us (and I am considering my friends and sponsors as my family). My Uncle Lowell, who lives 2 hours aways, comes home every weekend to race with us and is my "crew chief." Then there is my dad, Ben, he is the "tire man" and to me is one of the best at understanding rubber--he also keeps us on time because we do have a tendency to always be running behind. My mom, Nan, is our cook--she makes the best BBQ, if your ever in the pits stop by and get some--we will share. Then there is my wife, Tracy, she is the "competitive one" she will not let me settle for anything but the best. Note to self--if I don't run well, you may not want to be around her. I am lucky though because she believes in this dream as much as I do and works so that I can pursue racing as a career.
Finally there is all my friends (and sponsors--go to my webpage www.joshmcguireracing.com to see all of them because it would take all day to post them on here)...my friends have been with me since the beginning, coming to the rescue however they can whether being a support system and/or pit crew--Drew, Avez, Dustin, Nate, Jason, Dicky and many, many more (some that have even come on board as fans and have turned into great friends)! I also have to say many thanks to my sponsors especially CJ Rayburn who builds a mean racecar and George Caldwell for our "bad fast" engines.
Note: I don't know if I mentioned it, but I probably have one of the oldest pit crews--average age between my dad and uncle...60, but hey were lucky to have them and they love it!
