Jordan Ogg was born close cliff edge in the Shetland Islands in 1982. Here he grew up among 96,473 amorous sheep, 4 angry ponies, 6 sheepish hens, and 1 sexually confused collie.
His debut album, Before The Wind is released on the 1st May 2008. Recorded live with only 1 vintage microphone, the album was completed in Jordan’s Edinburgh flat during 3 late night sessions in April. The result is a very intimate affair, with only Jordan, his guitar and some sprinkling of harmonica and piano on the 10 tracks.
Shying away from the conventional radio friendlyness, Before The Wind is a treasure-trove of lovingly crafted songs that conjure up tales of wishing wells; gothic romance; a fight between spring and summer; ghosts in the floorboards; and time travel back to the haze of 1970’s New York.
Now based in, and gigging regularly in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Jordan's musical career has so far marked many wonderful experiences, the most recent of which include a live session on Tom Morton’s BBC Radio Scotland show, and playing the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow.
Hello Jordan, many thanks for the add and a big welcome to CAL support. It's a pleasure to have you "on board" as a friend. Best wishes to you and many greetings, Elke

Ogg you musical genius, how's the head? I have to listen to your music on myspace since that eunson lass stole your CD and is holding it hostage until I return her glasgow street guide. Aberdeen was some laugh eh? Stay cool.
Lovely to meet you @ SFF Jordan! Great music to caress my ears here. Mmmmm... Shame we didn't catch up in Edinburgh, but there's always next time! All the best & keep in touch. K xx
We were fragile too - well, that's an understatement! Sat in the sun in the graveyard waiting for the pub to open at 11. Doug turned up later and bought us lunch and nursed us better! Boat was hilarious - my mate Frances joined us and Matt bumped into a pal of his who then 'forgot' to get off in Orkney and came to spend his hangover in Lerwick! Back to work now - the nightshift - never that cool! Just read the write up for your album in the ST - you must be feeling good about it - and quite rightly, it's great! See you soon. Rachel x
Il be home sometime next month for pretty much the entire summer i believe, so id love to play. Just keep me up to speed and il try my best to be there on the night!
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace -

Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.

If there is a good thing From the Second World War It’s that most peoples learnt To conquer lands no more.
In Africa, Asia, And the Pacific, too: Post-war independence - Steps only bigots rue.
But for some indigenes, Outnumbered much-too-much, It has all come too late For liberty, as such.
So ‘tis in Australia, And America’s sites, Where the best now, I think, Is to respect land rights.
We've been playing a wee bit, not as much as we would like but i've just got the CD back from the printers and have sent them out to loads of places so I'm on the hunt for gigs now, very excited about it.
Hey Jordan, Just back to Glasgow, off the blue tub. Good news is I am officially moving to Shetland in the next couple of weeks to write books/films/plays and all that kind of stuff. Will miss folk festival though - see you are playing gig with free tangerines! (Satsumas?) (Oranges?) (Can't remember). Have fun! K
Hey! How's the weather over there? I just want to let you know that i'm coming to the UK in late May/early June to play bass with Kevin Montgomery and Tommy Allsup. Tommy played guitar with Buddy Holly, and is THE guy that flipped the coin with Ritchie Valens. I figured that with you being a musician that you would really be able to appreciate this show.
We play a few shows in Scotland, but we do have an Edinburgh date in Leith at a place called The Village on Thursday, June 5th. I hope you can make it?
We won't be doing my material, but it is a really special show, and Tommy is a true rock'n'roll legend.
Anyway, take care and hope to see you there.
