| About Jon Holt |
Welcome to the Jon Holt Myspace. After a decade of consistently performing in public as a solo artist and nearly 8 years of not sucking while performing as a solo artist (at least that's my opinion), I am now sharing my songs and my view of the musical world via my debut CD, scheduled for release in November 2008. To introduce my songs to the world, I enlisted the talents of many established, and not-so-established, Central Texas musicians. The guest roster includes:
David Zychek
Rick “Chainsaw” Turnpaugh
Lazy J
Colt-45
Marcus Berrios
Matt Holt
Ronny “Rug” Griffin
Kirby “Big Whipper” Sodek
Donald "Doc" Shuffield
"King Dave" Irons
Erin Lingo
Not having a steady band as a solo performer, I brought in several musicians to create a full-ensemble quality to this record. With so many talented musicians, the process of making this record invoked many magical moments, which have been captured and are reflected in the unique stylings of each song.
I wrote all 11 songs on this record, but the final mix is a collaborative vision shared with David Zychek. David brought his many years of experience as artist and producer and his many musical and engineering talents to the table for this project to help produce a representative and original offering.
I think this record is about life and music. It’s about not sweating the small stuff and it’s about growing and generosity. It’s about dumping negative memories of the past, holding on to good ones, and moving forward. It’s about making the most of your life.
