   About WEINLAND
WEINLAND WEINLAND

"My early contender for local album of the year, "La Lamentor' is a disc to cherish" - The Oregonian

"Damn is it beautiful" - Willamette Week

"Weinland, La Lamentor: Portland, Ore., band led by Adam Shearer puts forth fragile, folky songs that at times evoke elements of Neil Young. (Not all evokers of Neil Young are worth spending time with, but this act is.)" - USA TODAY

"If you've heard any of Weinland's other music, though, Shearer's songwriting voice is unmistakable. It's got one foot in the self-affirming whisper of Elliott Smith, and the other in the mud puddle of Gold Rush-era Neil Young. Meanwhile, the other members of Weinland frame the tunes in American Gothic architecture." - The Portland Mercury

"La Lamentor is one of those albums that is beautifully arranged and produced, leaving the songs to sidle up next to the listener like long lost friends." - Americana UK

"You’ll find yourself sifting through the debris alongside them, looking for answers but finding only questions and a gentle solace in the band’s beautiful new album." - The Portland Tribune

"La Lamentor follows and expands upon the warm, folky songs we’ve come to love and expect from this band." - Muzzle of Bees

"Five beardos who create some of the finest brooding folk rock in [Portland]" - Harp Magazine

"La Lamentor delivers an impressive set of dusty folk rock ballads that easily recall the quieter side of Neil Young and maybe even some Elliot Smith. It only took one listen for the addictive melodies of lead singer/songwriter Adam Shearer's best tunes to find a new home lodged inside my head." - Pop Headwound

"You can be assured of WEINLAND's sincerity--both on the album and live." - PSU's Daily Vanguard

"Demersville is just so full of stunningly beautiful moments that can make your heart melt or shatter into a million tiny pieces, often within the same softly sung line." - Spoilt Victorian Child

"An album that announces itself as a classic from beginning to end." - The Portland Tribune

"An amazing & intimate collection of hauntingly beautiful folk lullabies—the kind that are so good they give you goose bumps." - The Portland Mercury

" Like LaMontagne and Rice before them, Weinland echoes a shared experience of hurt and turns it into eleven songs that want you to know it'll all work out in the end" - MOG

"Crossing borders by way of acoustic guitar and backing band, Weinland carve out a landscape of well crafted songs with a tone somewhere in the realm of Elliott Smith without quite the void, and Koz's early Red House Painters without the misanthropy. " - Parasites & Sycophants

"Its classic Americana infused instrumentation and how it carries a tragic beauty to it mirrors some of [Neil] Young's quieter, acoustic introspective work." - Mainstream Isn' So Bad

Weinlanders, we are having a surprise party for you with all your favorites.......a gothic puppet show with bloody hobo puppet sex and drunk bird juggling and homemade explosives and a mime that shouts at people for being not cute and a tragic magic show and a wet pants contest and a battle off between a robot hooker (everyone loves robot sex)and an out of work wizard who got busted for selling wine coolers to minors and some really super kick ass music. So act really surprised when the homeless magician/male erotic dancer jumps out of the cake and dirty dances with you!

Hey, hope your having an amazing week so far.  I have been busy planning and getting ready for my trip to Italy at the end of the month.  That's right, foreign shores here I come!  I'll be gone for two months. But before I go I am having two more Portland shows.  If you can come out to one I would love to see you there.  The first is on Thursday the 14th at the 9 Muses (2715 SE Belmont).  I go up at 8pm and its just a 45 minute set I believe.  The other is Thursday August 21st at the The Camellia Lounge (510 NW 11th) from 9-11pm.  Be there or don't get awesome cocktails!  Hope to see you soon.
